2" Diameter Small Magnifying Burning Lens in Buckskin Pouch

Don't waste your time with this item. The lens I received was chipped on the edge and had grind marks on the surface of the lens. The magnification is more like 2x than the 6.5x listed. I tried to start a fire with it on the first sunny day and could not get anything to ignite. Not even a little smoke. Nothing! I was able to get ignition from the other lenses I was testing, but not this one. It wasn't a total waste. The buckskin pouch is nice, and I'll be using it for another lens I purchased.

One more item for my EDC pack. Since fire is SOOO important, I like to have more than one option for starting a fire in my Hunting / Hiking/ 4wheeling / just in case / in the glove box pack. Its compact & light weight so that makes it just wonderful to have with me. I really like the leather sheath it comes in to protect it from scratches while being packed around.

I use mine for a variety of reasons. To examine fine print and even read a menu in low light. I carry it in my pocket most of the time and could easily start a fire with it on a sunny day if necessary. Fine little lens

Little tight in the case but once I work the case it slides in and out really easy and works works great for starting fires when you're out in the woods for camping great to have an external and alternative Fire Starting system cuz matches and lighters get wet don't always work

Nice little magnifying lens and yes it will catch leaves on fire.

You can get a burn with this but if you're serious about building fires from sunlight you'll probably want something larger. It's made of real glass, reasonably strong (I accidentally dropped it and it didn't break), and it comes in a nicely sized leather pouch. Kinda nifty.

Speedy delivery and packaged nice. Would have been 5 stars but it was chipped on the edge in two places right out of the box. It is glass so you don't want to drop it on a hard surface. Practiced with it numerous times and it needs to be held roughly 6 inches from surface of material to get a fire going. A little practice and sun and you will see smoke in a matter of seconds. Perfect size and weight for what I need it for. Comes in a nice, soft, and tight leather pouch with excellent retention. No worries of it slipping out and breaking. I would recommend this for anyone looking for an additional method of starting fires in case of an emergency. Or if you're bored you could just burn ants.

Started my first fire with this in about 2 to 3 minutes. Great lens and just the right size. Beats rubbing two sticks together any day.
