Protect the Fitbit from loss
I purchased this safety leash for my recently purchased Fitbit One after reading feedback that people lose their Fitbits or leave them clipped to clothing. The safety leash protects my Fitbit from loss by allowing me to put the Fitbit deep in a pocket and by clamping the safety leash to the pocket as a double securing measure. I can also easily fish the Fitbit out of the pocket by pulling up the safety leash band. If I do not have a pocket, then I clip the Fitbit to my pants waistband and for added security, also clip the safety leash to the same waistband. The safety leash particularly protects my Fitbit from loss when working in the yard; I could be deep within the bushes and trees of our large yard and it would be exceeding difficult to find the Fitbit if it dropped out of a pocket or off the waistband, which the safety leash will prevent and provide added assurance and reassurance. Further, seeing the safety leash clipped to a pocket or waistband reminds me that the Fitbit and leash are still on/in the article of clothing - very useful when the clothing item is being thrown into the laundry or needing readily to determine which article of clothing has the Fitbit deep in a pocket. Many people have reported accidentally sending their Fitbits through the laundry when attached to a piece of clothing, which destroys the Fitbit. The safety leash certainly is worth the very small cost to protect the $100 Fitbit from loss, falls, misplacement, or laundry washes. To use the leash with the Fitbit One, simply loop the leash's thin loop through the top of the Fitbit case & loop it itself through securely making a looped half-knot. I haven't used it with other pedometers or different models of the Fitbit, but likely it will work with them in much the same way I mentioned. With this purchase, you can get two units, so you'll have an extra for a friend or family member or to use for another device or in case of breakage or misplacement. It isn't physically attractive, but does serve an excellent function.

Really Works!
This little leash has already saved my Fitbit One at least twice and I am very very happy with it. You get two of these, so I've got one saved up against ultimate loss. My tiny Fitbit does have its own secure clip BUT the clip can (and has) worked loose a couple of times and that is when this little leash has saved the day. I'm very happy with these leashes (leash-ettes) and would definitely buy these again. There is a small clip about 2 inches in so you can detach the leashed item from the suspender clasp if needed. You get about an inch and quarter to an inch and a half of strong cord that you loop around your device's handle and secure the suspender clasp to an article of clothing and you're good to go.

Overall a good product at a great price
I purchased this safety leash because the clasp that came with my Omron HJ-112 Pedometer broke; Omron sent me a replacement strap, but the clasp on the second one broke as well, as it was made of cheap plastic. I chose this product both because from the product description, the clasp appeared to be metal and because TWO units were provided at a very inexpensive price--I thought it would be great to have a backup.I was pleased that this product shipped VERY quickly. I was also happy to see that I was correct about the main clasp: it IS metal, and it seems like it will be very sturdy. I also like the "leash" part, a flat black material which appears to be of good quality as well. My only slight disappointment was concerning the part that attaches to the pedometer. There is a thinner black cord (this part has to be thinner to fit through the small hole on the pedometer), but for some reason, the black cord is attached to the black "leash" part with a plastic clip rather than attaching the two cords directly to each other. This clip opens and closes, but I'm not sure why there was a need for this, and I am worried that because it is plastic, it might break.Other than the plastic clip (which was the reason I gave the product 4 rather than 5 stars), I am happy with this safety leash, and I would recommend it. I will update my review if I experience any performance issues.

Pedometer leash is just OK
The leash that came with my pedometer stayed attached better, but the clip was made of plastic and broke. This clip is made of metal and seems to be sturdier. This leash is excessively long. I find myself either tucking the extra into the waist band or looping it through the belt loops. With the shorter looped leash I could secure it better through the belt loops.

Works great!
I have been very pleased to have this. After losing a $99.00 pedomator I was not going to lose the next one! This strap is easy to use and has a decent length. I clip it to my bra strap or around it for extra security and peace of mind. I almost lost the current one, and the strap saved it! And I was not down another $99! My only complaint is the clip can be hard to use.

The "teeth" on the clip for your bottoms snags your clothing
The "teeth" on the clip to your pants/shorts pulls at the thread and/or material damaging your clothing every time you put it on. Also, the whole clip fell apart after two weeks. I tried putting it back together to no avail.I love Omron pedometers and the straps have always been good and last a long time. I searched on Amazon for lanyards/clips and came up with the same poor quality item. I then searched for cheap pedometers so I could use that clip for my Omron pedometer, but even the cheap ones didn't have a lanyard that clipped. It finally occurred to me I should check Omron's website to see if they sell them. They do...$2.50 and free shipping. The clip they have doesn't have the "teeth" like this one does so you'll save your clothing from pulled threads and fabric.
