I am now a Believer in Headphones,,,,
I received these today. I have always been an IEM person. I am hearing impaired and using IEM's helped me "feel" the vibrations of the music as well as hear the music itself. I had tried headphones in the past. These included UE, Sennheiser, and a few others. While I could put more power through headphones than IEM's generally (a few exceptions as Sony XB-90's, ATH CKR-10's and the Thinksounds I was upgraded to after contacting Thinksound).I had always tried over ear headphones and not the on-ear type. The On1's are on ear and sound absolutely wonderful. I am using a Fiio X3 with a Fiio E-12 or, a Rockboxed iPod with a Cayin C5 (I think I said I was hearing impaired :)). I listen to mainly .flacs with some V0's in there as well. Clean music with a good source are more important than most realize. It allowed me to put 100's of mW's through IEM's rated at 50 mW max.The On1's I find to be very balanced across the spectrum tonally. Maybe a bit of warmth at the sub bass mid bass region, which is nice. the Mids are way more pronounced than the IEM's I have used. With the highs being very well represented without being shrill at all. This is right out of the box. no "burn in".They are also extremely comfortable. Much more-so than IEM's. I seriously hardly feel them on my head at all.Regarding the Company itself. It has to be one of (if not the top) best rated Customer Service oriented companies I have ever done business with. I contacted them over a pair of earphones I had bought (I don't remember which atm). I could tell I was pushing them way too far. I asked if there was anything I could do to return and maybe replace them with a more power capable model. I was contacted by the owner within 10 minutes of my sending the email. An agreement was reached where I believe I was clearly making out better than I should. They stand behind their products and will do everything within reason to make sure you are happy with your purchase. That, is pretty hard to find these days. And, is why I fell I had to mention it.Needless to say, I am really happy with these. Absolutely some of the best money I have spent.

Wonderful, love these and great customer service
Ok, So I have had these a couple months now and waited to do my review until I tried these out in various situations.First, I need to explain, I agonized over buying an expensive set of noise canceling headphones. I have a very old pair of studio quality headphones that sound amazing. I love them. But, they are not noise canceling. I started researching, looking and looking and had been leaning towards a Bose set, then I saw someone with a set of wooden headphones and I was intrigued. I loved they way they looked. I did some more searching and found these. I took the plunge and purchased them. My main interests were great sounding music, plus blocking out ambient noise. I didn't want to lose the amazing sound my old headphones had and I travel sometimes for work and I also commute daily on public transportation so I was interested in blocking out people talking and other general noise in these commuter environments. So these came, and right away I loved them. They sound amazing, the music is so rich and I could hear so much detail. These sounded better than my old Sony pro's. I saw several people complain about noise canceling headphones in general that they are tight on the head and cause headaches. I do not have this issue except sometimes I feel it pressing my sunglasses into my head.I had these about a month and started to notice I had the plastic pieces breaking on mine. I got scared. I was taking very good care of these, putting them away diligently and not forcing them. I came back onto Amazon because I remembered there being comments about this. I saw that the 2 people who complained of this were offered replacements that had metal instead of plastic if they contacted the company, and it seemed neither had done so. So I sent an email to the address listed in the comments and told them exactly the above: I owned these a month, gentle daily usage. After a couple emails to get my shipping info I had a replacement sent to me that day with a return label to send back the broken pair.I got the new pair and they are much sturdier.A couple weeks ago I had a work trip planned so I waited to see how this was on the airplane. Same experience. No complaints whatsoever. I kept the volume on my music a little low so I could hear when an announcement was made and had to remove the headphones in order to hear what was being said. Once that was good I turned my music up and was in my own world. If you have no music playing you do hear muffled sounds, but I have found even listening to something quiet it blocks the noise.I love these headphones, I appreciated the fast replacement, the great customer service. I am very very happy I splurged on these. I cannot imagine my daily commute without these, and I love the amazing sound quality that is even better than my last pair I thought were so great.

Listening to your favorite music with these cans.... priceless!
First things first: These headphones sound great with fine music. If you are shopping for headphones with great sound, you can do far worse.A few comments. These headphones sit on your ears; they don't surround or cover them. As such, I don't find they block or attenuate outside sound to any significant degree. It's not a defect of any kind, simply a function of where they sit on your head. The cable is too short to use in your listening room, but it's not attached so it's simple to replace it with a longer cable if needed. I find they are somewhat uncomfortable, but I find most cans uncomfortable. I think it's the shape of my head. I am bending the metal headband by degrees in an attempt to make them more comfortable. On the other hand, the pads are very soft and comfy. You should know that these cans are more than good enough to reveal the limitations of your source material, or equipment. I listened to these on a preamp which is pretty good (mid-grade audiophile) and there was a real problem with the sound; it was very flat, thin and anemic. I listened to them on another unit with a decent headphone amplifier and voila - a real transformation. I've heard new things on test disks that I have been evaluating equipment with for years - they are that good. I agree the soundstage is a bit restricted, but the wealth of detail is amazing. If your personal preference leans toward truth in listening, you may really like what you can hear. I'm now shopping for a headphone amplifier to take full advantage of the glorious sound of these cans; you may find yourself doing the same. Good listening to you!
