Great for children who hate reading!
These branches series are great for kids. I have a son who hates reading and has some delays. He’s in 4th grade this year and I began homeschooling him at the beginning of the year. Getting him to read was always such a battle. A former teacher that I met by chance recommended the branches books to me. We started with eerie elementary, and he couldn’t put them down! It did this mama’s heart good seeing her baby actually interested and enjoying reading! He started reading one of these books a day and before we knew it went through the whole series. Then we started on the notebook of doom, and he loves them too. His reading level has skyrocketed and it was a gateway to him now picking out larger chapter books without pictures. His reading level has went up 3 levels this school year alone. Can’t say enough good things about these books.

Great read-aloud for 4-5 year olds.
My 4 year old was getting tired of picture books (too short) but wasn't ready for long chapter books without many pictures. This book series is PERFECT with 10-12 chapters, pictures on every single page, and gripping stories. They're thrilling without being scary. He adores the entire series. We're sad that it has come to an end.

Must read for young reluctant readers.
I feel like it has been pretty hard to find reading level appropriate books for my son that he gets excited about. When I found these Notebook of Doom books, I knew I had a winner! My son loves these books. He has all but one in his collection now. This series is tied for 1st (with Franny K Stein series and Dog Man) as his favorite books to read. We started reading these together when he was in 1st grade, he started reading them more on his own entering 2nd grade & is now entering 3rd and has been reading them 100% on his own for some time now. He connects with the characters and LOVES all the silly situations they get themselves into. I highly recommend these books.

Great kids book
Awesome book series. We have been reading these since my oldest was in first grade and now he's in fifth. All of my kids like it aged three to ten, girls and boys. My husband and I also enjoy them. We read them aloud and the kids reread them quit a lot. This came in the mail today and it was fun to read it and finish off the series.

Great series for a new reader!
My 7 year old son loved this series and the final book, Battle of the Boss Monster did not disappoint! It is sometimes hard to find a good series for boys that isn't written comic book style. This is a great, easy read chapter book series.

The Notebook of Doom #13
In the thirteenth book of The Notebook of Doom series, Battle of the Boss Monster, the gang has to find the Boss Monster and fight her. Al is turning eight, and is told he will no longer be able to see monsters. Is this the end?

Our kids LOVE Notebook of Doom book series
We read a different Scholastic books series first and needed another good "first chapter" series with lots of pictures to keep their attention. They LOVE the characters and guessing who is the baddie and/or what could happen next.Whenever possible we use the Kindle edition and broadcast it to our TV via our Amazon Firebox (via wireless projection) so that everyone can see the text and the pictures. Unfortunately not all the books are available for Amazon Kindle, so some books we had to buy as hard paper and we are running out of space in our bookshelves as we have sooo many books, so we prefer electronic copies. Electronic copies also allow us to share it onto their Amazon Fire tablets for kids.Again, LOVED by all of our kids and we have different ages and grasp of the world. It has gone so far, that our boys have us print out the monsters, trace them and then colour them in!
