I'm so excited about this SSD! My original Apple SSD was working just fine, and actually had read/write speeds around 1400/1000 which isn't half bad. My issue was storage. I was looking everywhere for a brand I felt I could trust. I was actually originally going to go for the Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1TB. I already had my mind set on it, but I was still casually looking around on amazon just for fun. I had scrolled past this product numerous times, but finally decided to look at it to see how much of a "scam" it was. The more I looked at the reviews and looked into the company, I was amazed. Lesson learned, don't judge small tech companies so quickly!They have incredible customer service. I've seen multiple threads online (such as on reddit) where they went out of their way to find the thread and answer questions and concerns! I emailed them, as I was concerned about the difference in read/write speeds between the Samsung SSD and theirs, and they were super helpful in their reply. They even provided me a link to a blog post where someone had basically answered my exact question! Of course this isn't always possible for them to do, but it was very thoughtful!It arrived in just 3 days (ordered it on the 20th, arrived on the 23rd). The installation was super easy, the hard part was just setting up the macOS Catalina bootable and downloading my Time Machine backup. Just a note, make sure you make a bootable for your OS if you're running on something later than High Sierra! Maybe it was just my MacBook Pro, but it wouldn't let me even go into the App Store or safari to get Catalina because the OS installed on the SSD is High Sierra and the apps were not compatible with the older OS. I haven't seen anyone else complain about it, but I feel it's worth it just to be safe. If you decide to do this, just remember that installing it on a USB drive will require you to erase everything else on the drive!My main concerns were having adequate storage (check!) and having really good read and write speeds, as I run some light to moderate programs (nothing crazy, but I am an engineering student so I have to run programs like MATLAB and SolidWorks), in addition to mild games like Minecraft (I'm not a gamer by any means so I'm definitely not running super heavy games that you would likely want to run on a Windows PC, so I can't say anything about the SSD's performance in that respect). I just wanted to be able to run my programs smoothly so I can do my schoolwork smoothly.My read/write speeds are insane. They average between 2700-2800 MB/s for BOTH my read and write speeds.Please keep in mind that I have a 15" mid-2015 MacBook Pro (11,4), which is the Mac product that tends to result in the best speed results. If you have another product, like an earlier gen. MacBook Pro for example, you may not get as high MP/s.Also! I compared this to the WD Black sn750, as they are in the same price range. This one performed really well, at about 2650 write and 2500 read (not sure why the write was higher than the read, but my write speeds are higher than my reads for the Fledging SSD as well so I assume it has something to do with my MacBook and is not a reflection of the SSDs). It's a good option if the WD SSD is on sale and budget is your main priority (it often sells for as low as $150 for 1TB!), but I have to give this one to Fledging. Sorry, WD, if only you were a couple hundred MB/s faster!Overall, I really recommend this SSD. Even if something does go wrong later down the line, they have AMAZING customer service and I have no doubt that they would be able to help me out.

Works like a charm, installed in seconds. Backed up my MacPro (Late 2013)to USB flash drive and restored using Migration Assistant. The whole thing took less than 30 minutes!Seller answered my questions quickly and shipped even faster! Will definitely buy from them again.

Upgraded my MacBookPro drive to1TB SSD. The drive was very easy to install as per their instructions. It's straight forward. They are very accommodating and very fast in replying. Very happy with my purchase. Surely, I will recommend. Thanks FLEDGING.

Like to tinker? Want a Hackintosh experience in your Mac? I don’t know if I’ll revise this or not depending their customer service. The drive was a very easy install but the software problems make it feel like a sometimes sluggish sometimes buggy and more like a hackintosh. I did bless the drive and mostly fixed the sleep issue but occasionally it returned. After the Mojave update it “seemed” ok.I opted for this drive over the OWC one but now I’m having second and even third thoughts on just returning it. After it appeared to seem less buggy I transferred my iMacs data and it is completely useless. I’ll try to boot in safe mode then go from there but I’ll have to find a way to correct the issue so I can wipe the drive and return it for an OWC.

Searching for an MB Air upgrade for my partner, I read a review of a 128GB 2017 model clearanced-priced by Costco, and confirmed the upgrade Feather M13 1TB price. Screwdrivers included. Piece of cake for a non-techy.December 1, 2020 update: Started rebooting randomly in August, increasingly problematic by November, so we took it to local Apple. Sent it elsewhere and weeks later they diagnosed SSD failure, but wanted $785 to replace this SSD.Have to downgrade from 5 star to failure. Support coverage expired early 2020. Bummer.

Once installed worked great. Screwdriver to take off the bottom shell worked great, but the other screw driver for the interior screw was too large for some reason (even though it was labeled as the right size). I was able to scrape the screw driver against a ceramic cup holder to make the sizing slightly smaller, then was able to easily remove the old ssd and install the new one. After installing the new SSD, I ran timemachine and let it do its thing without any issues. After I was back up and running I had the space to do all the updates I needed (ie updated to Mojave, updated xcode) and everything has been working great. Been using it a couple weeks now everyday without issue. Really happy with all the new storage space, no longer have to worry about how many chrome tabs I have open with the swap space eating up my limited storage. Good purchase.

Got the M13 1TB about a week ago for my 2015 Macbook Pro.Installation was flawless, as was the migration of OS and data, I was up and running with the new drive in a couple of hours. My only gripe is that, sadly, my MBP is running hotter now. The MBP was bought new-in-a-box last year and been 'nearly always' silent thus far, fans would kick in only during the more intense music production/mixing sessions in Logic. Yes the drive is great, it's fast, and having 4X the storage I had is fantastic, but the machine gets hot and fans roaring when merely checking emails, browsing Safari after 5-10 minutes, etc. I've re-seated the drive in its slot, per their suggestion, but the problem persists, perhaps something I just have to live with. Excellent company and customer service though.

I did not install it myself, I had my tech guy do it. Recently I had troubles with my old MBP and bought a used 2014 but needed more space and a faster drive; upon consultation with my tech guy he recommended this drive. As of now it is working well. The shipping was fast and arrived earlier than expected.

This is a good replacement and upgrade for my Macbook Pro Retina 2014. So far so good... but I benchmarked my Macbook pro and it didn't reach the speed that it claims for write and read.
