Uneven, but very interesting.
Don't expect Shakespeare. The book is not very well written/edited. Many things are out of what would seem to be an obvious sequence, and some of the quotes used fall very flat, especially after the author's build up to them. That being said, the author is clearly passionate about the subject, and it is was easy to be swept up in the fun. I already have a lot of interest in anything to do with the English home front, and he gives a lot information and references. Sent me down a lot of rabbit holes online after reading. Very fun. He is very descriptive also, parts of the book created great visuals and atmosphere. I just wish he had had a better editor to put things into an order that made more sense. Recommended though for those with an interest in the Blitz.
