Budgie absolutely loves it!
This is my budgie's all time favorite toy!!! He always runs right over every time he hears the very unique and soothing sound these rattles make. My only dilimea is Birby is a very vicious with his toys and will constantly throw them with great velocity. As such after a year of constantly throwing and having me pick them back up again, my first rattle shattered after crashing into the ground for the 1,000th time. This is by no means a fault of the product quality, as they are very well made and sturdy! That being said, you now have a loyal customer as Birby loves these toys too much. I must always have a spare.Summary:I would highly recommend these to anyone who has a small budgie/parakeet. The sound is very soothing for birds, and If you are wanting a toy you can hold and play with your bird one-on-one, this toy is perfect! Do be careful if your bird likes to viciously throw things from high places to hard floors however.... The rattles are VERY resilient, and can survive many crashes, just not infinitely.

Not for even a small parrot
I purchased these because I have a small, 195 gram Hawkhead parrot who is not really a chewer and expected these to withstand her playing but the first time she chomped down on it she broke open the outer ball. The description uses the word "parrot" but I cant see this standing up to anything but a baby parrot or conure. More for buggies and tiels. It's a great toy if your bird has a tiny beak.UPDATE 6/18/19I'm updating my rating based on Tropical Chickens customer service. I wrote my somewhat critical review because I felt they should be more specific about the size of the bird that this toy is good for and that is still valid.I was not looking for any compensation and then out of nowhere I get a package in the mail today from Tropical Chickens with a toy that my bird will be able to use. That is great customer service and demonstrates that Tropical Chickens is concerned about what their customer think. I won't hesitate to purchase something else from them if the need arises. Thanks Tropical Chickens!

Finally a toy my bird enjoys playing with!
My conure, Tangie, loves it. I can be in another room and hear her playing with it. I have it dropped down from the top so one ball is out of the cage and the stem in the other part, the second ball is in the cage. I can hear her beating it up rattling it and her talking to it and making chirping sounds towards it. She really hasn’t been one for toys but this toy is a knockout. I’m glad I got two. I may give one to a friend who has a lineolated parakeet. This toy is a good size for them as well hanging down from the roof or setting it up so it’s some sort of stand. I would think a bigger bird would break it. But I am so glad I bought it for my girl and she finally has a toy to play with. The four stars for sturdiness is my concern about how long it will be before it breaks. She is rough with it and it is a plastic toy. Time will tell.

Perfect for medium sized birds
Let me start by saying .. this toy is LOUD! Our 7 month old Caique baby loves this toy so much. She was startling the other birds because she likes throwing it and it makes a loud sound when it hits the bottom of the cage BUT you can detach the balls, which is great because it’s easy to hook onto the cage that way. With that being said, be careful because it’s not super sturdy. Hei Hei was standing and hanging from it which freaked me out. It held her weight surprisingly, but I still wouldn’t hang it too high up. I took one ball off and she holds the toy like a mic, and rolls the free ball around as well. Overall it’s a really great toy but only if you can tolerate loud rattling / bell noises. Our cockatiels are afraid of it but the conures and Hei Hei the chicken (Caique) loves it. Would definitely recommend for active, playful medium sized birds who don’t destroy toys quickly.

Wonderful Toy
I've been following Tropical Chickens on Instagram for a while now. When I saw that they were releasing a toy, I knew it would be great, and I knew I definitely wanted it for my green cheek conure. There's no one I know that's quite as dedicated to their flock as they are!First of all, the packaging was cute, and I absolutely love the Tropical Chickens logo. I let my conure play around with the rattles, and he's not used to the jingling of the bells, but he's definitely getting a lot more exercise by throwing it around and running away from it! I love the idea that the balls are detachable from the rattle, definitely nothing like I've personally ever seen in a bird toy. It's my second day of letting him play with it, and he's already loving it!

Neat packaging, good concept, poor execution <see update....>
Update: While rearranging my conures toys and perches, I found that one of the rattle balls had been bitten through. Not safe to leave with your bird unattended, this is unacceptable for a $15.00 price point... Sending back for a refund.Great toy. I have bought my conure standalone/loose rattles, balls and she just gets furiously angry, throws them behind a table or to some inaccessible place. This toy has a lot more weight to it, so, she's occupied by it for a much longer duration.I understand the comments about these rattles being "fragile," I don't think that's really the correct word for it. The material is sturdy enough, I have had flimsier toys in service, my conure definitely won't break it or gnaw pieces off. The issue is that the snap-in element of the rattle arms could be tighter. The balls are made to be removable.Again though, my bird has yet to pull a rattle off of a handle.I saw another reviewer post a photo w/ the rattle inserted between cage bars - that's a fantastic idea, it's what I did, I just have one extra free-roaming ball that my bird can fling around the room. I think they should release a version of the product designed for sticking between cage bars, maybe with a central pivot point so that there's an equal length of the rattle above and below the cage ceiling.
