The volume up/down (V+/V-) works out of the box without any configuration. The arrow buttons for navigation are very convenient. I liked the product for the quality it provides in the price range.

A: Yes, turn on the backlight

**Q: what do the sholder buttons do? Can they be used as left and right mouse clicks?**
A: Yes, that is exactly what they do. And in Windows control panel you can switch which button is the left/right click. I can't speak for other operating systems as I haven't tested them.

**Q: I just want to use this in lieu of the keyboard on my Lenovo laptop (which is busted). Can it be used that way?**
A: Yes. If your Lenovo laptop has a spare USB for the receiver, you can use it this way.

**Q: Does this work with XBox One?**
A: yes
