High Hopes Dashed (updated: Hope Restored)
I had a week in Disney World planned and wanted a way to get around the high price of food and drinks. My original plan was to buy a cheap sun stroller and fasten a cooler to it and walk around the park. My 10-year-old son vetoed that idea vehemently and said that he was not a baby (he would regret that decision later). I found this backpack cooler and all was good. Overall my experience wasn't horrible, but I had to give it low marks for durability. Here's the good, bad and ugly. The Good: Although I used ice packs, I could tell that the inner insulated part was waterproof. The bungee on the outside came in handy and was well thought out. The Bad: The outside pocket is good for glasses and phones, but not big enough for anything substantial. The Ugly: The outside mesh pockets were great in theory, but within 3 days they both ripped (see picture). The handle on the top started to rip after just a few days (see picture). While standing in line for long periods it was best to take this off and just carry it when necessary. I don't suspect I had more than 10 pounds in this bag at one time (5 bottles of water and a few ice packs). I would have returned this bag for another one because I like the concept and it would be nice for a picnic or day at the beach, but by the time I came back from my trip I was just outside the return period. I would suggest getting this just prior to use so if you experience these problems you have some recourse.Update: I had to bump my rating by another star. Out of the blue I received a brand new backpack from the company. Along with it contained a card indicating a lifetime warranty that indicates that if for any reason you are not satisfied they will replace it or your money back. I don't recall whether I received this warranty card on the initial backpack, but it's good to know that they back their product.

It’s not bulletproof, but it’ll do!
UPDATE: After using this twice, I’ve come to one final conclusion - DO NOT put ice in it. It’ll melt and leak, and unless you like cold water dripping down your back, it’s a no go. However, ice packs were just fine. Go figure. A simple fix. Not to mention, no one wants to carry the weight of their drinks, food, PLUS ice anyways. But, I did take off a star because while the problem was fixable, it’s still ridiculous to have a cooler that leaks at all.Looks great! I will update once I’ve used it. I can see that it would be easy to rip the inside if I really tried, but I think with ice and only a few items in it, this should be fine. I’m not planning on carrying very much in my cooler at any one point, which is why I’m still giving it 5 stars. If I was using this to feed a family on a picnic, I’d be more hesitant. I want to use this while hiking/camping.

Great for long hikes!
Recently went on a backpacking trip to the Peruvian mountains. So glad I had this cooling backpack with me. It kept the food fresh all day. The water bottles and that I stored inside with ice packs was still ice cold at the end of the day. In general, it's very ez to carry and is very comfortable.

Keeps Drinks Cold All Day
We got this for Pride. We packed in 3 water bottles that were frozen solid to help keep our other drinks cool, as well as a big 40oz thermos, and 4 coke bottles. We were out for about 7 or 8 hours and whatever was leftover was still cold by the time we got home. Definitely recommend for picnics, camping, etc.

So far, so good... until it wasn't
I've had this backpack for 2 weeks and I am enjoying it so far. I bought it to replace a bulky hard-sided cooler I was taking to work. I like that on my bag it keeps my hands free for carrying other things, opening doors, etc. I like the mesh side pockets for 20-ish oz water bottles; we have some oversize bottles we have not tried yet. I haven't had anything leak or tear yet; I've only been using it for work, though I am interested in trying it out for a longer trip at a theme park or zoo. We prep ours by placing it in our chest freezer overnight; I don't think I would have space in my regular freezer.I only wish it had mesh pockets on the interior to keep ice packs on all sides, rather than them being loose, but this is pretty minor.UPDATED 2/20/2020: Had our first breach of the mesh side pocket. Not that it tore as in a hole, but the bottom seam has come loose from the stitching. I know how difficult it is to sew wider gauge mesh, so this could be avoided by a double row of stitching or a strip of webbing to reinforce that seam. The gap isn't large enough right now that I can't still use it for water bottles, but my stainless straw fell right through and that's how we found the breach.

Very good insulation and quality, compact and lightweight
Bought this for a 2 day camping trip out with the co-workers and it arrived just in time. Got the caronas outta the fridge and packed it all up nice and tidy. We were able to squeeze in a good 24 cans with some ice packs. Drinks were still freezing the next day atleast 12 hours later. The whole crew wanted to know where i got it.Would definitely recommend. The only thing i would have done differently, is buy the grey, as this is a little to dark and doesn't match the rest of our gear.

Keeps water bottles cold all day!
Used to carry cold water bottles to beach and day trips with the kids in Charleston in extremely hot and humid weather. Back pack is lightweight and comfortable to wear even with 10 water bottles. Kept water cold all day. Perfect for what I purchased and would highly recommend for what I consider a bargain price. Took off a star for the straps. The padded part of the strap needs to be slightly longer. The straps rub against underarm no matter how you adjust them. That being said, it did not bother my 16 yr old son, and probably would not have been as much of an issue if I was not sunburned! Love this backpack cooler!
