Angel & Faith Volume 4: Death and Consequences Paperback – October 1, 2013

While I'm digging Buffy Season 9 as a whole, the Angel & Faith series is definitely the strongest piece, and one I would love to see continue...FOREVER! Rebekah Isaacs creates my favorite art by far in the Buffyverse; her Faith & Angel look true to the original characters, and young Ripper reflects the Giles we know and love while being (as he would) quite the hottie. Story-wise, Gage rocks the ever-deepening story and Whedonesque dialogue on all levels, from evolving Faith's frustration with Angel's impact on her life to Spike's blustering bravado & charm.This piece of the story was quite compelling, and I have to admit I vastly prefer it to the last two books, although they served a valuable purpose in the narrative. Also, gotta say I LOVE the process drawings and cover art in the back, particularly the one comparing Angel & Spike to Betty & Veronica..so funny! I'm loving this series, and I wish and hope that it will continue past season 9. Gage & Isaacs make a wonderful Whedonverse team; they are a match made in the heavens of my very nerdy heart.

The Good: This volume was amazing. Definitely the best so far. A look back at Giles dark past is always a good thing. I love how these graphic novels revisit smaller aspects of the TV series, like in this volume with Eyghon. It makes perfect sense that he would tie into Giles' soul, but his place in the story is rather unexpected. Spike and Angel together is a pleasure, as always. I am really enjoying where this volume has the story heading and can't wait to see how they wrap the season up.The Bad: Not a thing.

Not a bad episode, not bad at all

In a time when creative teams often change every couple of months, Angel & Faith (at least through Volume 5) has maintained a high quality of writing and art through its entire run. It's one of the few books I've been able to count on to be excellent month after month.

Novel was beautifully illustrated and really moved the story line along. Provides a small BTVS fix. It is always fun to see Angel and Spike together.

Huge fan! Can't wait to see the ending to this season arc! Wish they would make another angel and buffy tv series!
