Works great, good quality, unbeatable price
I was torn after reading the reviews, but I needed a cheap blu-ray quickly. This definitely didn't disappoint. I've had it for a while now and never once experienced any issues other reviewers had, but to be fair we don't use it often. I had no trouble connecting to Netflix, and it played the blu-ray from our wedding perfectly.

They don't work with all dvds for some reason.

Not very good!
I bought 5 of these and 1 of them is already not wanting to work in less than a month. There is another that only works when it wants to.

The audio died after a year of use
I bought this last Black Friday and after a year of use this machines audio stopped working completely. After a month I decided to buy a new HDMI cord because it's a lot cheaper to do that than buy a new machine. Wasn't the HDMI cable. It's the machine. It plays movies fine - just no sound. Before the sound cut out it was always freezing up, though. I had to pry quite a few BR and DVD's out of this machine with a butter knife. I wish I had just paid more money up front but when you're a poor college student you take what you can get. I will know to pay more money for a better machine next time.

Poor Excuse For A BLU-RAY Player
Purchased from Fry's and will be returned soon.Remote is counter intuitive, and lacks basic functionalities in apps.Poorly streams Netflix video. States slow connection when speed tests around 10 MB down on another device on same network.Has issues powering up after less than a week of use. Have to do a hard reset (unplug power for 10+ seconds and plug back in) before unit will function after powering off.Worth spending the $20-30 extra for a Sony or other brand.

At $20 at ToysRUs this is a waste of money
I saw the Digix BD-500 for sale at $20 at a local ToysRUs. Couldn't resist buying it for the Blu-Ray capability. Immediate problems with DVD sound--echos, bobbling and such after a few minutes every time the unit was used. Also, tried showing .JPG pictures from a flash drive--got random orientation of the images and 1/3 of the pics weren't shown because of a file name error in transfer from the flash drive (I checked all names via my computer and they were correctly written on the drive.) It may be an inexpensive unit but it's a really bad buy at $20 plus the CA disposal tax. It also speaks poorly of ToysRUs to even keep it on their shelves in Santa Rosa, CA.

I love this player
I love this player, very basic, but does stream Netflix(my main use). I have had no problems with the player, but the remote is an unresponsive piece of junk. Have to mash the buttons to get it to do what I want. Remote aside, this does exactly what i want and everything about it still works fine, mine is 2 years old.
