Bachbusters Music Of J.S. Bach As Realized On Synthesizers

Wait, it's actually going on 270 something years since the master composed his work. This interpretation is wonderful, it sounds just as amazing and full of life as it did the first time I heard it when it came out during the heyday of car audio. PLEASE refrain from comparisons to other artists work. It's in bad taste really. If you appreciate this that's lovely, if you hate it, also lovely. Comparison shopping works well when purchasing groceries not art.This is best played very loud with a sub woofer accompaniment. I am not a classical music aficionado, tho I enjoy watching any talented human being kill it on any kind of instrument.The MP3 version sounds great here played via Amazon MP3 player, from a tablet through two high sensitivity 1-1/8" soft domes, 7" mids and a single 8" sub woofer. Just under 500W RMS total.Listening to this in a vehicle with 4 15" sub woofers and several thousand watts of amplification is other worldly.

This cd I think was built for one purpose only to show strengths and weeknesses of an audio system. This cd will definitely test the grit and fidelity of a system beware. From the highs to the lowest of lows but if your system can take it others will be more than impressed with the equipment you have assembled.

I had this CD in my younger years... I think I burned a hole in it from how much I listen to it. Great selection of tracks. Some short (too short, but that's the way it was written) some longer that are just great listening.Played it for my kids, and the loved it. Happy to find this again.

A number of old favourites with the synthesizers well represented. One track supports some unexpected percussion and overall a good purchase.

Listening to this CD makes me feel like I'm doing something I shouldn't. I have seen people literally cringe at the mention of Bach's harpsichord pieces being played on piano - and yet here they are being played on modern synthesizers! But it sounds wonderfully pleasant. I notice details I've never heard before.I honestly believe Bach would love modern-day synthesizers and probably would have written some astounding pieces for them. If you're worried what your Puritan friends might think of you, just close the curtains and dim the lights, before you crank it up.

This is one of those CD's that my friends and I bought just for the sake of Bach's Toccata when the lows hit for the bass in our cars. Hilarious, but now I miss it and this CDs uniqueness, and now really enjoy some of Bach's most famous works on synthesizer

Good synthesizer arrangements. The use of analog, instead of synthesized percussion, however, was disappointing. In at least one arrangement the percussion was too loud.

If your familiar with groundbreaking album of Wendy Carlos this CD in the same tradition. Opens the door to appreciate classical music with a modern format synthesized music. I usually play it every day.

Wer einmal die Kunst von Wendy Carlos genossen hat, ist wahrscheinlich verdorben für die Nachmacher a la "Bachbusters". Aufnahmetechnisch ist "Bachbusters" natürlich auf dem neueren Stand, aber sowohl arrangementtechnisch als auch von der gebotenen Klangtechnik spielt Switched-On Bach in einer anderen Liga.

A bit odd, as not all pieces are done in the "classic" manner, but otherwise a fun listening experience.
