When our 8+ yr old dryer stopped heating in July last year I just knew I would have to replace. My husband watched a couple of videos and thought he could fix it. Found this part, got it next day and he went to it. Fixed in about 30 minutes. Dryer was working! So happy we didn't have to purchase a new one, especially since we were just getting back from vacay and broke. Fast forward to July, this year, I thought I kept forgetting to turn the dryer on. Nope. It stopped heating....again. I was sure it was RIP to the dryer since I knew the elements last longer. Because I have the "howhardcanitbe" gene, I ordered it again. Came next day again, watched a video on YT, and fixed it myself in about 45 minutes. So extremely happy this product was easy to install and a price was affordable vs. having to buy a brand new dryer....againNow,"A heating element shouldn't go out that fast" is what I know you're thinking, or "Why the Headline?" so, I will elaborate.Since I knew when something gets hot and is pushing air, it's probably clogged, and since I knew I had been paying people to do this, I decided to do some research. I normally have a dryer vent cleaning company (ies) come out once a year to clean the vent. In the past, I would just google and hire whoever was having a special or service was discounted heavily to their counterparts. Found a company (Homesafe) that was way more expensive but that's ALL they do, so hired them. Came out, showed me what he found, approved the job and went to work. It took him over an hour to clean it out. He said he could see where it had been cleaned out previously, but only went up about halfway. The top half was so clogged and jammed with lent and debris he mentioned (and showed me) the top half of this vent probably hasn't been cleaned out in 20 yrs. (OMG). Said there was about half an inch left before completely clogged. He said we were "lucky the house didn't burn down" The amount of lent that was clogging my vent could of easily started a fire. Had it not gone out the yr prior and then again a yr later, I would have never thought it was my vent since I thought I was doing my homeowner maintenance. (Cheaper isn't always better) This part saved us from 1; having to buy a new dryer (probably more since it would've probably gone out as well) and 2: our home, belongings, memories, fur babies and most of all...our lives due to a fire that could have been easily prevented.

Works great. Easy enough to replace. They send a letter with the parts letting you know it's important not to let the coil cross/ touch itself and include YouTube links of how to videos. I didn't use those as I've had to do the same repair on this dryer a few years ago but was delighted to see some recommendations. Last time I ordered the whole assembly with the housing for a few more bucks .. this time I saved a few bucks but slit one knuckle open replacing the coil, thermostat and fuse in the old housing. It's annoying enough that next time I'm spending the few more bucks, nothing against what you get in this pack.When you replace the coil, clean every speck of lint and pet hair you can find. Take apart the lint trap and clean that too since you will already have the front off. When you put it back together and turn it on you'll smell the coating used to prevent corrosion during storage/transport burning off. It's nothing to be concerned about and should stop after a few minutes. If it doesn't stop or if you see any smoke then obviously something is actually wrong and the machine should not be used.When it comes time to buy a whole new machine I won't be getting another Samsung, but to be fair this one is now 9 years old with not that much time spent repairing. Not bad for the obligatory "they don't make em like they used to..."

Used the heating element and thermistor, appear to be working properly. Will update in 6 months to a year if anything changes.It’s easier to change than it appears, but test all included repair parts and the existing parts before you button everything up. My old heating element looked fine, but showed no continuity. Don’t stop once you’ve found one bad though, for most people it will be only one part, but for some like me it’ll be multiple.Afterward, just remember to put everything back in the cable ties and understand it’ll smell for a few cycles while it’s burning off the shipping oil on the coils. I ran it a couple of times with a damp old towel, once on low, once on medium, and another on high. The smell was gone by the start of the second cycle but I wanted to test it on multiple settings before putting normal laundry in.There are tons of YouTube tutorials on the repair.

My Samsung dryer (model DVE50M7450W/A3) which was 5 years old stopped heating. This kit was a fit for it and was 5.5 times cheaper than a Samsung replacement ($35 vs over $200 from Samsung). And it included thermostats, thermistors, jumpers and other items the control the heat in your dryer, which the Samsung one didn't. Essentially 1 kit and you can replace all the components that electrically affect heating. If replacing all components, it's best to pull out the vent tube (1 screw) in the back of the dryer which allows much easier access to the back screws on the heating element box. Just unscrew it and pull out, super easy. I replaced all components (tested first and all were good). Took about an hour, but I'm handy. If your not take your time, it's not hard to do and you will prevail. Lots of videos online to help (regardless of model number, they're all basically the same).Reassembled and tested it, and sure enough it got hot again. I did notice a faint "burning" smell when I first tried it, but that's probably just the "new" burning off the coil. Didn't happen the second round (each was about 5 minutes). Then I did laundry. Before it completely failed and for years a standard load of laundry took about 1:15 hours to dry. My fist load since fixing it took ~40 minutes to fully dry. Very impressed and since I replaced all the heating components, should be good for a while now.If you have a few basic tools (screwdrivers, especially a short phillips one and a flashlight), this is actually quite easy and will save you a ton of cash over hiring an appliance tech to come out and do it! Just remember to unplug it before doing anything!I'm impressed with it, but I've only used it a couple times. The longevity will tell the real story, but it seems just like the original one, actually a bit more robust, so it should last quite a while. All of the included thermocouples, thermostats and thermistors work perfectly as well, but always check them with an ohm meter just in case (if you have one). Wear gloves too, some of the metal inside the dryer is sharp and will cut you easily.I'd give this 5 starts no problem since it works out of the box. Again longevity will tell the real story but I'm very confident it will outlast the original one. I tested it and it's better. Dryer gets a little hotter and dries faster (saving electricity). Essentially it will pay for itself in a couple months based on electricity savings alone. And for $35 versus a tech at a minimum of $450, for a simple job, it's a no brainer! Many Samsung, Kenmore, Maytag (and other) dryers use the same item, so just do it yourself and save the $$!

I'm giving this a four because of the unknown life and quality. My original element failed a few weeks ago and I bought a replacement locally that lasted for two weeks. Once I got the machine apart, it was clear that my installation of that element was the issue as vibration caused the the lower lead to touch the element housing. The instructions for this one warned about that, so I made sure the leads were bent in such a manner where they didn't touch the housing. The existing thermostat and other components tested fine, so I didn't replace. It's been a few days and the dyer has been working fine so we'll see. It was pretty easy to install and after having gotten the machine apart, I'm confident that I can repair anything else that comes up. I do plan on ordering another element just to have available if this one fails. The price is right and it's a fairly easy job should it fail again and far cheaper than replacing the dryer or calling a tech to diagnose and install. I'll update this review in a few months once I know more about long term durability.

I'm so happy I found a replacement for my Samsung dryer! It helped me to avoid buying a new one and starting a major kitchen renovation) My son-in-law and I just disassembled the dryer and found a problem - a failed heating element. We replaced it and assembled the dryer; it was not hard. Voila! Two months so far, it works like a beast. The temperature seems even higher than before, so I clean the dust compartment after every drying cycle. Very happy. I will buy the replacement again if something happens. Big thanks to the seller!

First off let me say that I have a lot of experience working with electricity and electronics. If you are not sure enough of your capabilities, and perhaps if you're to sure of your capabilities please be extra careful while fixing your dryer. Look for video's on doing a heater element replacement for your particular dryer before doing this, and don't just unplug your dryer, take the time to also kill the ckt breaker before getting started. At the end of the job you don't want to be leaning against your dryer while plugging it in just to discover you have a short in there somewhere.I was able to isolate my dryers fault down to the coil its self before ordering this. However; this entire kit included not only the coil but also 4 additional components that are the most likely to cause problems, and for just about the same price as what I was seeing for the coil alone from other vendors. I had hoped to remove the coil's shell without needing to remove the drum, but in the end I needed to take the whole thing apart. The seller included a nice warning about being careful to ensure there is proper spacing for the contacts when assembling everything as this appears to be a common cause of returns to them. The whole process of stripping the dryer down, installing the new coil, and reassembling all the way up until the last screw before putting the top on took less than an hour. Unfortunately that last screw slipped and fell. Being cautious I tore everything apart and found the danged screw inside the motor's coils. Over all though, it was a simple enough repair. The old coil, besides having an obvious break in it, was black/charred, and looked extremely thin. This replacement of course was spanking new and the coils appear to be much thicker. I'm not sure if they will 'shrink' with age and constant heating but it looks well made.I've run the dryer for over a week now and it's doing it's job just fine. In fact both the wife and I feel that it's taking far less time now to dry the clothes than the original ever did. Hard to tell though, maybe the old was this good 11 years ago. As for the other parts that I knew I didn't need but purchased anyway? They're in a bag on the back of the dryer along with its wiring diagram just in case they're needed sometime within the next 11 years.

We came home from a week long vacation with lots of laundry to do and discovered our dryer was not heating. We really didn’t know about trying to repair our 5 year old dryer ourselves but hated the thought of purchasing a new one. So my husband and grandson took it apart and discovered the bad heating element so we looked up the part and was pleased that it was available through Amazon with overnight shipping. When the part arrived the next day they installed it easily. The hardest part was getting everything back together. Thank goodness everything worked and we could not be happier with our experience and the ease of getting the correct parts in a timely manner.

Worked for just over two years and now it burned out or broke...the curly filament doesn't seem to be as durable as the original. Perhaps they are all this quality or maybe we just had bad luck.We' ll order another and see how it goes.
