The book has no content whatsoever. It is a story of what happens when an uneducated person gets a lot of money, doesn't know what to do with the money, just squanders it on superficial materialistic possessions. No depth about any of the relationships Lamar claims have been super important to him. Boring book. Waste of time reading it. One of the worst memiors ever.

If you want to hear Lamar talk about his few accomplishments then buy this book. It’s chapter after chapter of him patting himself on the back & making excuses for his bad behavior such as drugging & whoring around. Don’t buy it.....I regret giving this man any money.

It's easy to hear a name and make assumptions based on what you think you know about them.Lamar Odom is an individual who is known around the world, but through his book DARKNESS TO LIGHT he is able to let us into who he is, how he got here and shares what we can learn.So many takeaways from this book, including the fact that he is able to own up to his own shortcomings and failings while showing growth standing up for himself and not letting others stand in his way. The irony of that was that the book highlights how he became his own worst enemy. And with that revelation he is able to turn away from the things that could destroy him.Full of insight, reflections on life and what it takes to survive, DARKNESS TO LIGHT lets you see that if you don't give up you can find the light in your life again.

I would have gave it 5 stars if Lamar’s language and talk was more prevalent. I realize he’s not a writer. But it lacked that true lammy style in most chapters!! I also appreciated his dedication to khloe although throwing kris under the bus(probably true). Also. Khloe wasn’t keeping ppl away for her good or the brand she was trying to keep your business private!!!

I loved the fact that Lamar was so open and honest about his Journey. Even through the roughest times of his life, he didn't hole nothing back. Even though lamar had a very rough time as a child and as adult he was loved by Soo many people around him, he just didn't realize it, because he thought he was all along after his mom passed away. Everyone knew Lamar was a great person that was dealing with a lot of demons. He just gotta keep pushing forward and Breathe Stretch Shake and Let It go and let the people around him love him. I'm Praying 🙏 for U Lamar. U got this. 💓💓💓

It was hard to learn of the losses he experienced and the undiagnosed depression and anxiety resonated a lot with me. At the same time, his honesty was so commendable.

The 1st half of the book really flowed well. It was fascinating reading that part of Lamar's life. Then he met cocaine. Lamar's inability to take any bit of responsibility for his actions was really disappointing. That man blamed everything around him. Typical addict mindset. I hope he finds peace one day, because he's not there yet. Lamar is still spiritually broken. If he's not, the writer's did a horrible job of conveying that to the reader. All in all it was a good 100 pages and then it was hard to read about his continued spiral into spiritual hell.

A really good read which gave real insight in to Lamar Odems life, and how the use of drugs influences his life. The book is mainly about Lamar's life growing up and how the death of his Mother, and an absent Father affected his choices in life . The book briefly touches on his marriage and the Kardashians, but mainly is about his journey from a young boy to where he is now.

What a fab read, to get to know what actually happened in Lamar's life and to understand why a lot happened is heartbreaking!

For someone who doesn’t really know anything about basketball it was still a very interesting read!

I read this book after learning about Lamar through his relationship with Khloe. He gives a searingly honest insight into his tough childhood and addictions - the only reason I didn’t give five stars is because I didn’t understand all the basketball references (but appreciate many people will be reading the book to learn about his sporting career too!).
