Rain Chains Direct Slim Link

This rain chain is really nice. I did not want one that looked too "decorative", my house is more contemporary so this one works great. I love the way it looks hanging from my house. It also is so cool when it is raining, the water travels down the chain into my rain storage bucket. It is light weight and iit is super easy to hang up. It looks expensive but the price is great! I have had a few neighbors tell me how much they love my rain chain and have asked where to get it. I am going to order another ne for my back yard. We are in a drought so this makes it really easy to collect rain water!

Looks good but does not work like the more substantial cup style versions I previously used. I took a chance on this because it was replacing a gutter downspout off a small deck roof and needed limited functionality. It gives the minimal look I wanted but I would not use it to replace a gutter that gets a lot of rain

This is another of those items that you really need to see before you buy it on-line. First, it does not come with the sleeve (shown in the picture) that hangs down out of the gutter. Second, when it drains, most of the water does not travel down the chain but splashes all over around it. Third, the V-shaped bar that the chain hangs from is not wide enough and can slip down through the spout hole. Not very impressed with this one. Amazon did later send me an email showing a gizmo that fits (supposedly) into the gutter, but I suspect water in the gutter will travel right under the plate it sits on and do nothing to help.

Soooo... this is a very light weight material and it seems like the water is not just running down the chain but splatting off of it. I adjusted the chain so it sat very centered per link and that helped but if it gets windy this might not be as effective as I'd like. I think a heavier chain and a rounded or oval shaped link would be a better option if you want the water to run neatly down the chain. This is the first rain chain I've ever tried so I had no idea what to expect. I think this is adequate for very light rain but would suggest a heavier chain with oval links for anything more than that.

Doesn't work well. Water spits off of the chain defeating the purpose of the water running down to a drain. Looks beautiful but doesn't work. I have a metal roof and maybe the water is running down too fast for the chain to handle the flow.

Simple, easy to install, light weight, works great with rain barrel.

Very lightweight. Should work pretty well.

I designed a special dimension sized 16 foot aluminum rain gutter for catching rain water off my solar PV panels mounted on a sturdy trellis. The aluminum rain chain is perfect for leading any condensation or rain down to my rain barrel because there is no chance of electrolysis from two different types of metal. Chain is light weight and will not sway too much in light wind.
