So much to learn
Great workbook for kids

Good review and prep book, but more traditional than fun
I think that this book helped my soon-to-be 4th grader better prepared for the start of school. I also bought him the "Summer Brain Quest" (more social sciences and critical thinking focused). Of the two, he definitely preferred the other book, though I think this book might have done a better job of preparing him for 4th grade. The other one did a better job of making him a well-rounded person, since it is a bit more non-traditional, outside of the box, and just overall more fun (great stickers and a map to plan your learning activities and track progress). This one has little star stickers to mark completed lessons, but that's really about it. I also bought the K-1st grade books in both series. They were pretty much identical, just at a different grade level. So, what will I purchase next summer? Probably both sets again. They each fill different niches. They both seem to have helped the kids in their classes this year. But if I had to choose one or the other, it would depend on my goal. If I wanted the kids to do better on standardized tests, then these Summer Bridge Activities series would be better. If I wanted them to be original thinkers who are better able to handle real-world learning, then I would go with the Summer Brain Quest books. So, I personally would buy the other book if I was only going to buy one of the series. But, that does not diminish the value of these books, and I will probably buy both again.

A variety of activities
This is a great refresher of 3rd grade and easy transition into 4th grade level. The activities varied from reading and comprehension, math, projects, critical thinking and reasoning and some physical activities. My son is ready for 4th grade!

Good subject coverage but can use better binding quality
I’ve been buying these work books for the last couple of years for our boys to keep in touch with their school work during summer vacations. I got this work book for my 9 year old last month. Content and coverage of subjects are very good as in the past, specially the Mathematics, Science and Writing tasks. Paper quality is great as well. But the pages come off very easily from the book. They don’t seem to be glued together well. Hasn’t happened in the past year. Hope you can better the quality of the binding.

Great for growing minds!
I love these workbooks! We used to buy these at a local store until it closed. They help kids retain what they learned in school over the summer. The worksheet usually takes 5-10 minutes a day.

Pages missing and duplicated
I’ve been buying these books for my kids for the past 2 years now and would definitely recommend it! Love the standard and quality of the activities and my kids love it too. But this time the 3rd-4th grade book had the Content- Day 2 pages missing, then the Days 3-10 duplicated (all in section 1). Minor inconvenience, would definitely buy again and recommend but just wanted to put it out there in case someone else had a similar defective copy. I did give the seller feedback also.

Extra time for pre-teaching concepts.
Many concepts have not been covered in Grade 3, and the book gives very little explanation/modelling, so this requires a lot of extra time to pre-teach concepts (like PEDMAS, which I was not aware they taught in primary). As a few others mentioned, it’s covering a lot of grade 4, a little prematurely.
