The Radio Today guide to the Icom IC-7300 Kindle Edition

If you have or will be getting an Icom IC-7300, I highly recommend this book. I’ve owned an IC-7300 for three years, and I wish I’d had this book when I bought the radio. Even after working with the radio almost daily, I learned several new things from this guide. In addition to the step-by-step instructions for operating phone, CW and digital, there are many useful references for additional information. If I were starting over again, I’d read this book first, and then the Icom manuals. 73 de N1ADM

The Icom 7300 is amazing bang for buck little radio. In fact, it is capable of just unboxing, connecting power and antenna and start using it. The deal is if that's all you do you are missing out on a lot of capabilities and how to use them.The book is much more than a simple copy of the user manuals. It's more like telling you WHY you might want to use certain features and THEN it describes HOW to do it. The Icom user manuals pretty much explain (pretty well) HOW to activate things but not why or when. I liked how the book goes into specific detail on how to set up your 7300 to work with popular software packages from SSTV to WSJT-X and much more.

This book has a 4.6 average rating. I read many of the reviews before I bought it. Now that I have it, I must be missing the "like it" gene. I had the distinct impression that it would be pivotal in helping a new 7300 owner get going... Maybe for some but not me. I re-read the recommended "settings" several times and found it veeeery confusing and even more succinct than the ICOM "Manual"... After that section, it's more like a listing from the manual. Sorry, but I don't get it. The "YouTube" series by WA2IVD, the A to Z series offers a much better reference at no cost! It's almost "hands on", literally.

Having owned the IC-7300 for more than a year, I purchased this print edition based on favorable reviews for the IC-7610 manual. I learned some of the obscure setup tips well explained in this excellent guide previously through tedious trial and error in actual operation! I heartily recommend reading and studying this guide before heading for the encyclopedic online Icom manual. I have Andrew's 7610 book and it's fantastic. I just got the book today, so I haven't gone through it in detail, but it looks fantastic.Andrew said he's going to do a 9700 book. That radio is REALLY complicated, but I'm confident he'll pull it off!!!ronN4UE

Easily 10 times better than the owner's manual or any quick start guide. This is the book that should have been in the box with the radio. IC-7300 owners will love it. You just gotta get this book!

This is an excellent reference manual for those who would like to get the best performance from their Icom 7300. Very well written and goes through each step and operation in a very logical manner. A "Must have " manual for those who are thinking about purchasing or presently own a 7300.

This book takes you through easy to follow steps that make the first time use of the radio easy. The instruction manual is thorough but this book takes you through many simple tips and suggestions that cover are the functions available. This radio has many features that some hams never had on older radios. This is a must read for those that want the help in understanding the terms and functions described in the owners manual.

I bought this book because I am (or was) considering purchasing an IC-7300.It is written, in "plain English", but obviously with lots of technical information about the operation of the transceiver.If amateur radio is your main hobby and you are considering buying an IC-7300, I would strongly suggest you buy a copy of this book before parting with £1000+ on the rig.For me it has put me off purchasing due to the complexity. I'm sure it's a great rig, but I think too complex for me.But if I change my mind, I'm sure this book will be a great reference.

Let’s face it the Icom manual is basic at best! If you are new to the Icom 7300 this is an excellent book, logically laid out, well written, clear and concise. I wouldn’t describe it as something just worth worth getting but as essential to get!

This is a good fully comprehensive guide to the Icom IC-7300. with an in depth explanation explainingfully the operation of the 7300 in quite some detail.Well worth at least one read, and probably another as you get used to the transceiver.
