well worth it?
luckily I don't have to complain about how ludicrously overpriced this book is as no-one seems to want to sell it...well I wonder why that is ('coughs..ripoff...)

Great indepth book on the post war conflicts in Oman
This is about as close you will get to an official history of the wars in Oman. The book is very comprehensive and well researched, as the author had access to Oman military official records, as well as the usual sources. It also gives great insights from all sides of the conflicts. Be aware though that this book is highly detailed, and goes into some depth and is not just a brief overview. Unlike some recent works on the Dhofar conflict, this is not from a revisionist view point and takes a far more traditional view of the Dhofar conflict, more in line with Beckett than Newsinger. For anyone studying this time period in Oman, particularly the 1970 coup and the subsequent events, this is a must have.
