The magnification works fine. The entire construction has felt sturdy and reliable. This magnifier has a heft to it that is lacking in typical magnifier lens. I usually use a small one when at coin shows, or my head band magnifier with led light. This one I purchased to have something with a bit of character to it, a touch of the classical. I also am a fan of gaslight era and 1920s Lovecraftian novelties, and this fits the bill.The handle feels great. One might say the top-heavy nature of the lens and metal on one end would be clumsy or cumbersum, I would counter that this form of magnifier is not one you will be holding a great deal. It is perfect for the casual hobbyist to use at home at their desk, as a prop in a Cthulhu LARP/fanfilm, or as a gift to liven up a work desk. It's both appealing and functional.

Wanted a period looking magnifying glass and found I really use it all the time to find errant beads and other items for my crafts. A great item!

I wanted a magnifying glass to help with tiny print that appears to be getting smaller all the time, and this magnifying glass does that. The glass provides a clear image without any distortion! I also wanted a beautiful one with a nice wood handle as plastic is everywhere and this one has a wonderful wooden handle in different styles! It’s hefty so you are getting a great product and not a thin piece of glass!

Glass lens and very good if not ultimate quality optics. Brass rim and stem and solid wood handle. It’s a bit heavy, but balanced in the hand. Amazing item for the price. Very satisfied!

Purchased two of these, one for my wife and one for myself. I needed a good magnifying glass because my cheap plastic one was getting too scratched up to use. I fix watches, collect coins and build models as hobbies and the small parts were getting too hard to see, so this fit the bill perfectly when examining small pieces. I got a second one for my visually impaired wife so she can actually read the small print on labels, etc.. Again, she was very happy with hers.The glass is heavy, the handle seems solid and the glass lens does what it is supposed to. It is much larger than the photos on the web site seem, so I was pleasantly surprised by the large size and weight to this magnifier. I am not sure that it really magnifies 10x, but the field of vision is clear and sharp. As some others stated, the center of the glass extends beyond the metal rim so if you lay the glass down unprotected on a table, the lens will touch the table, but not a problem as we put a soft cloth around the lens when we're done with it.Very pleased with purchase and at the very fair price I paid, if this broke or got lost I would buy again.

This hefty magnifying glass is probably one of the better values out there. It has a nice wood handle, and a big, clear glass lens. The lens ring/frame is some kind of mystery metal, but it’s attractive. I’d imagine that it’s sturdy enough for desk work. It’s made in India. Overall, I’m satisfied with it.

My original goal was to get a new magnifying glass which uses real glass, which apparently is now a rarity. What a delight to receive something not only practical, but something beautiful, sturdy, and a keeper. Now it's very easy to look up a word in the dictionary. My new treasure came packaged very carefully in a "gift" box, arriving quickly, a big thank you to the Seller.

Fine print?? No problem. This magnifying glass is good looking but also works great for seeing small and fine print. Recommend
