Absurdly Beautiful Short Blade
I use this knife in addition to two other Knife King Models in order to create a knife belt, with hilts sitting at multiple angles, for a Ren Faire setup and it looks pretty awesome.Craftsmanship is excellent. Of the three knives I utilized, this setup looks the absolute best, and feels that way too. It has serious heft and is solidly built. The handle detail and construction type is far superior to any competitor I've seen, and in my use when 90% of the time it is hidden in a sheath and being carried around a faire or event, then the handle is what matter.I do recommend fitting a custom leather sheath to it in dark leather as it looks WAY better than the normal one, but either is functional, especially if you'll be covering the logo.

A great decoration, but mediocre functionality.
If you want a pretty knife, this one will scratch that itch.If you want a hunting knife, fighting knife, or utility knife, there are better options. My biggest issue, and why it lost a star, is the grip cross section is a circle rather than elliptical/oval.This pretty much ruins it's usefulness for anything other than a decoration, as first, you can't quickly index your grip, and second, you have no leverage to keep it from torquing during use, as a circle cross section spins freely.Other than that, the craftsmanship is acceptable for the price, and anyone claiming this is an "etched blade" and not "real" Damascus, ffs, get some education. Real Damascus is a lost art that disappeared with Wootz steel, so saying "real" Damascus is asinine to begin with. Also, read up on pattern welding and acid dipping, because that's what this blade is, it's pattern welded, then dipped in acid to bring out the pattern. The pattern is a chemical reaction on the surface level, and if you buff the blade too much, you will remove that top layer. Saying it's etched because you removed the chemical burn is like scratching keys on a red car and being upset that the metal underneath also isn't red. It's just ignorant. If your pattern wears off, just give the blade another acid bath, and be more careful with your cleaning and stropping.

Much better than I expected
This knife is incredible in more ways than one. It is very attractive and hefty to hold. And for the life of me I can't figure out how it could be made and sold for such a cheap price. I am both an amateur knife maker and a collector of hand made knives and this knife will be added to my collection. Because of the price I must think this knife is factory made and not hand made. A hand made knife of this quality would cost at least 10 times more. The knife came with a very well made but oversized sheath. The sheath would be perfect if it was a half-inch less wider than it is.Just to substantiate my statement about being an amateur knifemaker I am enclosing a photo of one of my knives.

Gorgeous piece
Excellent quality. Very large diameter handle, with a wonderful ergonomic bulb. The wood and metal are sanded smooth and feel natural in the hand. The guard and the blade are larger and thicker than they appear in the picture. It's a very robust knife. I'm highly impressed.Though it is by no means a metallurgical test, I can report that the steel was extremely resistant to P60 grit Norton Zirconia Alumina Abrasive Belts. And if you know anything about grinding belts, you'd know P60 eats hard steel for breakfast. After several hours I managed to put a 15 degree chef knife's edge on the blade, with very little sacrifice to the tip due to how far the spine continues up the blade. With 8000 grit polish, I feel like this gleaming masterpiece might be the best in my collection.

Machine made Damascus knife.
When I got the knife it was triple wraped in plastic and wax paper. The blade had some WD-40 on it (for rust prevention). It was razor sharp. Everything was shipped as promised. Now there is a controversy in the waiting on if it is Demascus steel or not. It is Demascus steel ,BUT it is made. By a machine. My dad is a seasoned metal worker who owned many metal working businesses. I had him look it over. He said that it was indeed Demascus but was machine made. UPDATE!!!! My sheath just completely fell apart! I was outdoors with it strapped to my belt when the loop on the sheath fell off. I examined the loop to see why it fell off, and to see if I could fix it. Turns out that the manufacturers used some sort of glue to secure the strap along with the not so strong twine. Very sad, but I'll probably just make another one.

WORST EXCUSE FOR A KNIFE I EVER SAW.....EVER!!!
NOT REAL DAMASCUS !!! FAKE GARBAGE.. the entire knife from the grip to the sheath is garbage Construction. If I saw this in person before I bought it I would surely look elsewhere for a better item. I am showing these to everyone that this is the quality from knife King and how horrible it is. If you want something good don't buy from knife king because this is garbage not one good thing about this in any way shape or form. Spend a few more dollars ANYWHERE else. This is a true embarrassment. If you need something to scrape the DOG POOP off your shoes I would recommend this in a heartbeat that's why I gave this one star because it's only good for one thing. Scraping the DOG POOP off of your shoes it comes with a very badly made sheath that has a pocket for a sharpening stone but , THERE IS NO sharpening stone!!!!.

Great Knife, worthless sheath
The knife is a wonderful Damascus blade; very sharp and well finished. The sheath though is another matter. I had put it on my belt and wore it for about an hour, then sat down in a lawn chair. When I stood up, the knife fell out of the sheath onto the ground. One of the rivets came apart on the snap. The sheath is a piece of crap.

this is one cool looking blade
How do I write this review. Unless the Zombie apocalypse happens and I have to start dispatching walkers, this knife has no practical use I can see. That being said, this is one cool looking blade. My knife is well made. The handle is beautiful as is the blade. It came very sharp. Damascus blades are always different from each other and beautiful to look at.And there it is. Practical? Nope, not really. Unusual, beautiful, and a good price? Yep.

So pretty.
I have to be honest. I bought this knife as a wall hanger. Is it practical? No. It’s too heavy and the handle shape offers little grip. Don’t care though. It’s a beautifully made piece. Pretty, well made damascus. Great hand work and an an excellent sheath. I’m happy with it.
