Mark Cuban: The Maverick Billionaire

I really love this book! I’ve watched Mark Cuban on Shark Tank and it was really great to have some insight about him in this book because I found him to be very amusing and curious. I found myself flying through this book when I started reading it. I flipped to the first page, then the second, and suddenly I was finished with it! It was very intriguing to read what Huff has to say about things because this is the only book I’ve read from him. I love finding new authors that I like! He had a lot of very thought-provoking statements, but a lot that was down to earth as well! So there was a very balanced mixture and I really appreciated that—I don’t really see that in books anymore. This book is very easy and pleasurable to read and gives a lot of interesting information. I would recommend it to someone who would like to see more into Mark Cuban and his endeavours.

I first heard of him when he appeared on Dancing With The Stars. I thought he was a bit of a twit on that show. Then I started watching Shark Tank and thought he was rude, arrogant, and obnoxious much of the time. I really knew nothing about his life or how he made his fortune. When I saw his book for sale I decided to read it. Even though I still think he needs to go to charm school I am amazed at how brilliantly and brazenly he managed his career and success. I find I agree with a lot of his core principles in business and about entrepreneurship being a solution to the American economy woes. He is a risk taker, has a kinder heart than expected, and is giving back to his customers and helping other people. Interesting book about an interesting young man who has had phenomenal business success. I must give the devil his due. While luck may have played a part in his career, it seems it was primarily self-directed. His willingness to study, learn, and prepare for his business choices is remarkable.

Can't say I was ever a big fan of Mark Cuban UNTIL I read this book. WOW, this was a regular guy just like me who is now a self-made billionaire! I always thought he acted like he does because he came from money but it turns out he acts just like he did when he was broke. Poor prejudgement on my part. The insight and advice that can be gleaned from this book are well worth more than the cover price. I am now, and will always be, a Cubanite.No balls, no baby!

The book itself is well written and typical of any business biography-style effort, mostly going through a “history” of Mark Cuban’s business endeavors and analyzing what the author believes to have been well done or otherwise, where Cuban succeeded, et cetera. Take note that the book is not authorized or endorsed by Cuban or anyone in any of his organizations.Most of the information provided is taken from second hand sources found across the web, the author is just digging up and repackaging what’s already out there. Some of the information provided is definitely incorrect / misinterpreted (claims Cuban took home $2.5 billion off of Broadcast.com)… there’s a lot of “filler” content on sports / basketball. Mennh.It’s an okay read, but isn’t going to give you any real insight into the inner workings of Mark Cuban or his businesses that can’t easily be found online.

It was okay, nothing particularly exciting. I wish there had been more info on his personal family life, though I understand the need for privacy. I've watched him on Shark Tank for a long time. Kind of enjoyed the book but again, not a barn burner but an easy read.

The book details his life, from growing up in a middle class Jewish family to what made him the outspoken and often outlandish billionaire he is today. The advice given in this book by Mark on what it takes to make it in the world of business is fantastic. The book is full of fascinating facts you probably didn't know about Mark and each fact is referenced to provide validity. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn more about Mark Cuban or is looking for insight into what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur.

I'm a big fan of Mark Cuban. I love investment and I really look up to investors such as Mark Cuban knowing how he built his own company and made billions of dollars. This story really inspired me. If one man can journey through all these struggles and get such great success then I can also obtain such success. To invest in companies like Landmark Theatres, Broadcast.com, Magnolia Pictures and the NBA Team, Dallas Mavericks, is a huge component in me looking up this person. He takes huge risks but still comes out successful.I was impressed to see how his companies grew so fast and made so much money but what I can say is that Mark Cuban is my favourite shark, by far.

Thanks gave me what I needed to push through my early stage in business! It's tough but i know my drive and passion will carry me through! Great stories

Disappointingly short and missed an edge as it was all written based on newscoverage.Would not advise you to read, but would refer you to Cuban personal biography (winning the sport of business).
