This is a great product! They came well-packed and with no missing parts. I especially like the very clear instruction manual that comes with it. As long as you follow ALL the steps, setting it up is easy. There is also a very complete video on YouTube. The rod itself is quite sturdy, unlike a lot of curtain rods. The motor is powerful. I did find that the IR remote control was a little unreliable; this may be due to the position of the IR sensor, which is on a short cable to the motor housing. Take some care in pinning this to the outside of the drape where it can see the remote's signal. I am in the process of hooking up a Z-wave relay control to the curtains to integrate them into my smart home system. The relays are less than $50. You have to wire them up to power and an RJ-11 connector. The curtain rod motor housing already has an RJ-11 jack built in to accept the external controller.

I purchased based on this rather wordy description........” Built in third party controlling interface makes it easy to integrate into other controllers, like METechs Smart Home Hub, Control 4, PLC, Insteon, Zigbee, Z-Wave, X10, and others. It can be controlled by remote (included), control pad (included), wall switches, METechs timers, third party controllers, and smart phones and tablets with add-on module.”......To get this to work with a smart switch, you need to buy a smart curtain switch, plug in the hardwire remote that comes with the set...then cut off the remote......then wire directly to the smart switch, through a hole in the wall or you need to surface mount the switch and run wire mold from an adjacent outlet. Definitely falsely advertised as able to integrate into a smart home.

Operation is a little loud, but they work fine.

After a decade of daily use, I am thrilled to share my experience with this product, which I purchased back in April of 2013. The installation process was a breeze, something I managed on my own, and since then, it has been a consistent and reliable part of my daily routine. Remarkably, the only maintenance required has been a minor adjustment to the screw for added tension to the cable that runs the curtain every few years. It's a testament to its durability and quality that it continues to function flawlessly to this day. While it seamlessly integrates with Alexa and Google, I do hope for an update or an adapter that would allow for compatibility with Apple Home Kit. This addition would make an already excellent product absolutely perfect for users immersed in the Apple ecosystem. In February 2024 no Apple Kit easy-to-install is yet available.

The product didn’t work, the motor never stopped! I went through the process of adjusting the tension 3 times! Also the manual test didn’t stop it!!The company sent me an RMA but didn’t refund the amount, it deducted $70 restocking charges 😡 Their claim of “30 day no questions asked return policy” is BS😡

Very difficult to install. Called for help and instructed to watch the U tube vidoe. No other help offered. Remote never worked and entire motorized system only worked for a few months. Not worth your time and money if you're looking for longterm function.

One of the parts had a manufacturing defect and was promptly replaced by METechs. We are very satisfied with the product and we use it for our bedroom curtains. We set it up on a timer to open in the morning and close at night and it has been working perfectly. It's little bit on the noisier end when it's opening and closing, and that makes for a good alarm clock.

Great. Love it!!!!! Just have to watch the cat doesn't stand on the remote control! It was bad enough when she discovered she could operate the robot cleaner!
