brilliant--dramatic tension galore!
With the 5 disc "Junior Year Collection" of "Felicity", one of the bonus features is the extremely insightful and entertaining "'Docuventary': A Look Back At Season 3" where director Lawrence Trilling says the third season added a lot more humor into the show. That's pretty ironic because the thing that's really striking about this 3rd season really isn't the humor as much as it is the incredible dramatic tension in episode after episode with the terrific writing that's often surprisingly imaginative, for instance the somewhat over-the-top 'revival' of the Avery character played by Kristin Lehman. No matter how over-the-top it gets, the show remains winningly human and realistic at its core, and as with the first two seasons, you get convincing, believable performances all around. The late John Ritter was nicely incorporated into the show during this season as Ben's extremely troubled alcoholic father, and Scott Speedman (Ben) and Scott Foley (Noel) are outstanding just like they were in the previous 2 seasons. Of course, the unlikely pairing of Sean (Greg Grunberg) and Meghan (Amanda Foreman) offer a lot of entertainment value, as do the pair of almost-impossible-to-take-seriously characters: Javier (Ian Gomez) and Richard Coad (Robert Patrick Benedict). Through it all, the show manages to stay remarkably down-to-earth, avoiding pomposity, and to call it addictive would be putting it lightly--this third season of "Felicity" is simply brilliant, and the enlightening bonus features take it that extra mile.

Three cheers for junior year!
I am so glad to see so many people as enthused as I am about Felicity. I loved the show so much in 2000 I had a little girl and I named her that. The show was the best on television and at the time the WB was really doing a terrific job of putting out really good drama. With Buffy and Angel and The Gilmore Girls. I am sad to see so many of these shows gone now because there is really nothing on TV. I am about put out with Reality shows and women degrading themselves to marry an ex athlete or some rich guy or better still an Australian outback dude. The state of television is literally down the tubes. I have to say FX is the only station doing a good job with releasing any good new shows. So thank you thank you Buena Vista for releasing something I can watch at the end of a hard day that has some substance to it. If it wasn't for DVD's like these I do not know what would happen to us. If anyone agrees with any of this give three cheers!!

What a sting in the end....
After watching the series from the english perspective, i missed part of season one, so waited for that to be released, found Kerri Russell and co to be honest actors (exclude Javier, if you have seen him you will understand, good actor/wrong show) They battle through life, love and loss. The scene from season one on the tube/subway between Felicity and Julie, is one of the most memorable scenes ever. Watching her life grow and fall apart, only to recover, revenge and live life again, never believing that her relationship with Noel will ever get the credit it deserves, leads to the third series, with a twist, which after seeing most of season three on UK tv, i have waited patiently for this to be released on dvd, to see what happens at the end. There's a twist, that doesn't fit with the normal lifelines, but what changes occur somehow undermine the story as it is so far, and the lives of all, but i never caught the end, so wait to see the outcome of a truly emotional piece of work by actors, directors and script writers, and the music put to this Felicity life, is as the story runs, memorable.

This Was A Pretty Wild Season
I'm pretty sure that this was the season where I wanted to kill Ben for making some of the most dumbest decisions ever. And he was hurting Felicity so much that I almost couldn't take it the first time around (2000-2001). But now I'm older and I see how much we all fell head over heels ffor someone like Ben Covington. Noel went nuts in the beginning of this season and disappeared so nobody knew where he was. We were introduced to Molly who was in love with an abusive guy who came back and tried to kill her. Meghan turned into someone the audience actually grew on. Felicity ends up in bed with a Frat guy and doesn't remember if she slept with him or not. Her pic ends up on the internet and Ben finds out about it. If you haven't seen this season yet, I'm sorry if I ruined it for you. I think this season was the most personal because now everyone is like real family. Everyone's grown into their own and the chapters get a bit deeper into the college life and experiences.Good watch and a must have.

Felicity Fan
This was the only show on TV that actually portrayed college life. I mean I watched Felicity throughout the four years it was on, and I couldn't wait to see it every week. I loved this show! It's so stupid that the show lost viewers just because she cut her hair. It was original. The writing was excellent. I loved the development of the Ben/Felicity relationship, the characters stories, the life decisions, the real problems college students could face, the deep friendships, and mainly that it was about finding yourself and developing into an adult. Every character was interesting. The comedy was actually funny. It was a real show people could relate to, and though it may be ridiculous to say this about a TV show, it did influence me in many ways. At least we have the DVDs to keep the memories alive. And finally, I would like to hope there's a Ben or Noel out there for every girl and a Felicity for every guy.
