This is every bit as good as the one that came with the Dell computer at a far lower price. The only word of caution is concerning the voltage switch on the side. I covered mine with insulating tape to try and prevent it from being accidentally switched. It would be much better if the switch did not protrude through the case so it would be much more difficult to move it to a new voltage inadvertently.

I ended up returning this item because it didn't come with the 7.4mmx5mm adapter that I needed. But if it had, I probably would have returned it anyways. I ordered two, and one of the two units started emitting a sort of "burning" smell from it. I can't confirm that it actually was burning anything or that anything went wrong. Its just that this gave me an uneasy feeling. So that combined with the fact that it didn't work with my intended application, I ended up returning it. I almost kept them to use as phone chargers because of the USB port. But that would have been too bulky of a phone charger. Make sure you check that this kit includes the proper adapter for your application. Just because it comes with a sleeve of connectors doesn't mean that it will necessarily fit your board/laptop.

This adapter does not seem to be of the same high quality as an OEM adapter, but it has been working perfectly for the past month. I needed to find a replacement charger for a Toshiba laptop since the original was lost. OEM adapters were very expensive and the low price of this one made it attractive. Plus, I'd be able to use it for other laptops. The only potential issue is that the adapter ends are sort of long, especially when combined with the standard end. I have to be careful that it does not catch on anything and break off while using it. Also, I've had no problems with the adapter block overheating.

I was initially very excited about this item because shipping was so fast and there are so many attachments that I can use it for multiple things. After a couple weeks of use I'm far less excited. This charger has to be plugged in and turned in a specific direction and not he moved at all in order for it to charge. If the cord is moved at all then it's no longer charging. At this point I'm wishing I'd gotten a different charger instead of something so universal.

Great product. It has multiple use given the different switchable connectors. I have not found any electronics in my house hold where one of the 12 tips do not work. It is very handy item to have in the house. I would recommend buying it.

This adapter is amazing!!! First I went to Radio Shack where a product like this would normally cost something in the range of $59 - $99 and the sales rep told me to go onling to Amazon.com...duh what was I thinking?! Well, this universal adapter for laptops works great though I do have concerns about the heat it produces and whether or not it would melt on me. Another issue I had was that it didn't have more connectors (one in particular) with it as I brought this up with the people I ordered it from. They apologized but said it wasn't their fault this happened and asked me to delete the rating I gave them as it would hurt their business. All I'll say is if you want to buy an AC universal adapter for your laptop buy one that has more than eight dc connectors and that those who sell it to you explain things a bit better.

After my pathetic targus cord stopped working, I was forced to find another, and quick. Luckily I found this bad boy. This adapter looks much like something that is worth the money, and it is. It also has 3 prongs instead of the Targus's 2, which makes it much safer for the user. Also, adapters are straight and small, which mimic more the original cord, instead of taking up more space like the Targus one I had that went left to right. It has a little bigger brick, but at least it works. It has a voltage option on the side as well, which I think will make it work better than one that does not have this option. However, I'm not an electrician, so take that with a grain of salt. So if you need a laptop cord, you should definitely consider this one.
