Great Product!
We have used this brand of food for a long time now, and our fish thrive on it. We have a variety of goldfish and a few small koi in a large tank (600 gal) in our garage. One of our goldfish, an Oranda named Fancy, is extremely slow and the other faster fish get her food before she can. At feeding time I feed the zealous fish first, then I sprinkle some of this sinking food close to Fancy and she's able to eat without interruption. She doesn't have a chance with the floating food. Our fish are very healthy and their colors are very vibrant...is it the food? Don't know, but why change when it's working so well?

Good for fantails
I have 3 fantail goldfish in a large aquarium and they love this food. The pellets are a good size for their mouths. It seems to be easily digestible, as their poop seems to disintegrate in the water instead of being more solid like it was with other foods (less vacuuming for me!). It sinks to the bottom of the tank so they don't gulp air, and it doesn't cloud the water unless I accidentally overfeed. We love it! I have been using it for 6-7 months.

Good product, but expensive. Read this for a GREAT idea for feeding your koi!
Koi eat it, but it is expensive. Here is a tip that will save you some money. My koi MUST grow big and fast since they live in a 2500 sq. ft pond which contained some bass and other wild fish and herons and snakes lurking. Size and wariness are their only protection. These little crumbs are well liked, but what my koi really LOVE and puts the weight on them is rice, brown or white. They go wild for it, and they have thrived on it! Give them rice. Let's face it, the rural Asians who developed this species into what it is was not feeding them stuff that was too expensive for their families to eat! The koi lived on gleanings of rice in the flooded fields where they often lived. As far as needing something special for coloration...nonsense. My koi are very colorful and healthy on rice diet for the last year and a half. However, I do recommend this product so you can train the new additions to the pond to come to you for feeding time. Also, I keep a bottle down at the pond for that once in a blue moon when I have no rice (i eat it daily) so this is a good supplemental feed and maybe a treat although not much calories or volume unless you feed them $10 worth at a time. Very well made product though and decent package. Maybe this is good too for big goldfish.

Ok food
I feed this food to the goldfish in my outdoor pond. My fish are very picky eaters and at first they didn't want to eat this food but after about 10 minutes they started eating it. The fish did not go into a frenzy like they do with some of the other brands that I have tried, but they do eat this brand. The ingredients are: Anchovy Fish,Whole Whea, Soy Meal, Alfalfa, Wheat Germ, Spirulina, Gluten Protein, Hydrolyzed Protein Meal, Di-Cal, Vitamin FD, Mineral Mix, Fish Oil, Vitamin C (Stabilized), Choline, and OPTIMÛN.Protein: 38% Fat:6% Fiber: 2.55% Ash: 4.35% Calcium: 1% Moisture: 10%I'm not sure I'll buy this brand again. Also the container is not as big as I expected it to be but you do get the 1.5 pounds as advertised. The pellets a cylinder shaped not sphere shaped. The pellets are small but not too small.

Good stuff to vary your fish's diet
I think it's important to vary your fish's diet and it's also good to gives certain fish an opportunity also.I've noticed that newly introduced fish tend to not want to feed on the surface of the pond. These sinking pellets give them a chance to eat more quickly. It's great to have a food product that sinks to use with that which floats.I will purchase again and recommend this to anyone that really cares for their fish.

Inconsistent
The first container that I got had about 1/3 sinking fast, 1/3 sinking slowly and 1/3 that took awhile to sink. That was perfect for my fish since they seem to like the slowly sinking food the best. The latest container about 90% goes straight to the bottom so they have to pick it out of the gravel. I don't appreciate the inconsistency.

Best rating fish food
Very speedy delivery, good food. My daughter researched fish food for my koi and goldfish pond and this came up as the best. There service is excellent and the fish eat the sinking pellets.

Great food for fish of all sizes.
I have 5 Koi and a few dozen goldfish in a pond. The Koi tend to grab the surface floating food, leaving nothing for the rest of the smaller fish. My solution was to put a mix of floating and sinking food into the pond so that fish of all sizes can eat. The koi and goldfish tend to eat both food. It's small enough for comets and smaller goldfish but good for my larger fish, too. This is a great option when you have various sizes of fish. The food sinks and doesn't seem to cloud the water. It does tend to bloat/expand if the fish don't eat it immediately, but after checking in a few hours, the food is gone.
