I'll see how this works long term. I'm using a buck to control speed. even down to 4.5v it works.maybe less. I got the 20rpm. though at 12v it's faster than that. Should be 3 sec R. it is faster than that. more like 2R per sec. but no complaints. my test V is a high 12V. Don't think there is a need for the PWM units. Quiet if you isolate its mount from any vibration. We were happy with how strong it is. Lots of torque! My use is to control a water wheel I made for an outdoor art project. It feels like plenty of torque to make a smooth turn. and plenty of resistance to now allow the wheel to over turn. My only next thing is? the arbor dia. and parts to connect it? direct drive I think. Hope it stands the test of time. In shop test, it is what I hoped for. well worth the cost. Mr son is in the RC world and he was impressed with how smooth, quiet, and strong this rig is. test of time next? 4stars, if it's still running strong in 3 years or more. 10 stars.

Good value with nice open loop torque
I used to rotate a fixed load at open-loop RPM. I only ran one control at 1 in-lbs and observed only about a 10milliamp variation above no load. I did not have the ability to accurately measure my final load but guess about 2-3 lbs with only about the 10 milliamp variation from no load. (not much change) Calculated could easily run 10 hours plus with 8 aa battery pack and about 2in-lbs of a load. Ran open loop for about 4 hours at about 90-95 degrees F and about 2-3 lbs if axial load. No issues and no apparent degradation in open-loop performance.

It works
Using it to control a butterfly capacitor on a DIY magnetic loop antenna. Works as it should. Dropped a star because it didn't come with mounting screws.

Not quite as powerful as I had hoped
Buying motors online can be tough, even if all the specs are listed (and assuming they're correct). I had the 12V 1000RPM model, it wasn't quite as torquey as I had hoped for my application. If it is any indication for a future buyer, the motor's stall current was tested to be 1A at 12V.

Quality assembly
The quality seems to be very good, I liked being able to select this particular R.P.M. (200) and later a 1000, for the purposes I required. I am using them to power small home made gear pumps.

It's a motor
Pros: sizing was accurate, no load speed was very close to rated, seems to work as designed.Cons: most likely due to the gearbox, VERY LOUD when operating.

use to drive a bullet sorter
Use to drive a bullet sorter use one of the speed control and this until does a great job will buy once more if I build for a different cal.

It worked great... for about 2 hours...
2 hours continuous running caused this product to FAIL! This was also with a cooling fan blowing across the motor, in a non-confined spot. The motor was not at fault, but the gearbox was 100% to blame! The gearbox had MINIMAL grease inside, but the construction of it means that even FILLED with grease would not have saved it. There is absolutely no bearings at all inside, just metal rods with the gears slid on, but the real problem was the disappointing quality of the gearbox case and sloppy tolerances. After a few hours, one of the gears found a way to bind up... This caused the motor to stall and burn up. Thankfully my power supply has over-current protection!I hate writing bad reviews, but got bit by this product. First use for 2 hours in light-load application also happened to be after the return window ran out. I would recommend spending a little bit more on something higher quality.
