Needs more magnets!!
I have a vented gas fireplace with doors that I close when not using the fireplace. The size of this blanket is about right.HOWEVER, the blanket as is has TOO FEW magnets to stop cold air from leaking in from the sides and bottom for the fireplace unit.Luckily I have some sewing skills and a sewing machine. Magnets are easy to get at various sizes to do the job. Made backing with welders blanket to sew in the magnets. Added several magnets to the original on the upper top, many more to the sides, and added magnets on the bottom These are shown and annotated in the images submitted.Total cost for me to custom fit this item = $35. Cost of magnets $20, Cost of welding blanket $15. Overall cost of blanket before taxes and with magnets & welding blanket about $160. Labor not included.I am actually quite happy with my final customized product. I dont think there is anything like this on the market. The company could sped a few more dollars to put in more magnets to do a great job, not just an adequate job.

Love this.
This works very well for my gas fireplace. Fits perfectly and the magnets do all of the work. Keeps the cold air from entering my house when I don't have my fireplace going. So glad I purchased this!

Not airtight
We are using this product currently, and while it’s providing a great deal of relief from the cold we were feeling coming from the fireplace, it’s not perfect in that there’s still a gentle breeze that escapes. Still recommend the purchase if you have as much cold air flow as we had though.

Works okay but could be vastly improved for the price.
This fireplace draft blocker was the only one of it's type so i figured i'd give it a shot since having a gas fireplace is like having an open window in your house as far as the draft is concerned. The problem is there are far too few magnets, the draft just comes out the sides albeit more slowly. I bought more magnets in the craft section at the local walmart, and fold a blanket to cover the bottom. My draft is pretty effectively blocked but a certain amount of cold air still does make it's way through the fabric. I assume this is saving me hundreds in probane bills as is. The magnets also move around in the pockets they are sown into, the the mat gets a stretched look near the top from trying to spread it thin and tight over the fireplace. This device is a good start, but here is how I would improve this: More magnets all around the edges, and have a fabric that stops wind 100%. Also, this should be about half the price. Needlessly expensive. So--in conclusion, not half bad, but if you are crafty you could probably make a better one for about a quarter of the price.

Exactly what I needed
Perfect size and I have noticed my furnace is not kicking on as often. So it is doing the job. Magnets are strong enough to hold it tight, but no so strong its hard to get it off/on.

Perfect for the cold weather - a must have if you have a fireplace
This was exactly what I was looking for . We have a pretty hefty draught coming out of my gas fireplace insert and this covered it completely and kept out that extra cold air that was creeping in. I would recommend this to anyone who is experiencing cold air leaking in around their fireplace. Best part is that it is magnetic, so in the spring/summer when the temps increase, I just have to fold it up and store it for the next cold season. No damage to my fireplace. ;

The product works as advertised
I’ve been living in my house hit twenty years and I complained about the draft coming from the fire place during the winter. I purchased this product and I no longer felt a draft. Besides working as advertised, I’m saving money on my heating bill. I am very pleased with this product and feeling comfortable in my man cave.

Well made, fits great, and stops drafts, but a bit pricey
This curtain fits perfectly in my fireplace. The magnets hold it firmly in place and very effective at blocking updrafts. I checked the air leaks with a Black and Decker thermometer and confirmed that it does indeed work. It is well constructed. My only feedback is that this (and all of the competitors' products) product is a bit overpriced. It is essentially corduroy fabric with magnets. If you are handy with sewing (which I am not, hence why I bought one) you could fabricate one from some Hardware store magnets and craft store fabric.
