Holman New Testament Commentary - Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians

I found this commentary to be helpful in two areas: For preparing sermons and for helping with teaching sunday school. Some of the stories told by the authors are good for either illustrating an expository style introduction for a sermon or for helping you think of a similar story in your own life.If you want a line-for-line study this is not it. But the authors do have good insight into the scriptures

Excellent outline/layout for preparing lessons or sermons. The chapter outlines and illustrations are concise and easy to understand. Also a good study resource for students.

I love how it explains verses in context and allows for personal application. Great for the layman!
