Assorted Neon 12 Inch Long Milkshake Straws - 50 Count- Extra wide

This is actually a review of four products available here at Amazon: the Vitamix 20-ounce Container/To-Go Cup; the Hydro Flask 18-ounce Insulated Stainless Steel Wide Mouth Water Bottle; the Hydro Flask Wide Mouth Straw Lid; and the Assorted Neon 12 Inch Long Milkshake Straws. These are being reviewed together as parts of a functional solution to a problem.My daily routine demands that I rise early and drive 1 hour and 15 minutes to work (I’m sure like thousands of others). Since I can’t see getting up any earlier to prepare breakfast, I prepare a protein smoothie the night before. That way I can enjoy my breakfast as I drive to work.Whatever vessel holds the smoothie, it is much safer to consume it through a straw, rather than taking your eyes off the road to tip back an 18-20 cup of thick beverage.I had been using an old Tupperware tumbler with a lid and straw. At 30 ounces, this was too big, did not fit in my car’s cup holder, easily spilled because of the insure lid and, even though it has a thinly insulated nylon pouch, did not keep the drink very cool (although since I drink it right away, this was the least of my concerns).In the search for a replacement a coworker suggested I look at Hydro Flask. Since I was already down with the straw idea (the above mentioned Milkshake Straws are just dandy… and you need the 12 inch ones… had some 9 inchers that were too short) so was drawn to the Hydro Flask Wide Mouth Straw Lid. Bad idea: straw too narrow for a thick shake; straw and lid difficult to clean (and straw falls out), mouth piece (contrary to company description) is damaged easily. On the good side, it did fit nicely in my car’s cup holder, and it kept the drink nice and cold. I do like the bottle (still undecided about the lid) but have given up using it for smoothies.When we recently upgraded our old Oster blender to a new Vitamix (quite a significant upgrade) it came with two of the 20-ounce to-Go cups. These have been a game changer! Easy to hold, easy to clean, fits my cup holder, spill proof (although I have not actually thrown a full one in my backpack) and reasonably insulated. The small opening with the flip-lid is OK to drink from, but use the milkshake straw for best performance. Yes, the flip-lid is a bit tough to use, but it is not going to open accidentally!My new evening routine is make two smoothies at a time, every other day (since the Vitamix is plenty large!) stick them in the fridge and I’m good for two days at a time.Took a few iterations, but I couldn't be happier with this approach!

The diameter of these straws is HUGE! Work well to be stuffed into an opening where it is wedged so if you fill cup with soda, the straw will NOT float up and out of the cup!

I needed long straws from my smoothie cup that I have. These are the perfect length. A bit wider than I expected, but still great. They are very durable, you could honestly use them a few times before tossing them. (If you have the right brush to clean them) :) Good quality though!

I have tall insulated tumblers with hard plastic straws and lids. I have broken several of the straws and needed to find a replacement that was longer than 10" straws. I ordered these 12" straws and they are long enough but they are too big around to fit in the tumbler straw opening. They tend to collapse when you try to drink a smoothie because they are manufactured too thin.

These are HUGE, and they don't accept free returns. Not sue what anyone would want these for.

Trying to purchase some straws for my husband who takes a Smoothie to work each morning. Bought these due to the length and was sorely disappointed. These straws have a larger diameter - instead of the width of a "regular" straw, imagine 4 times the girth. Not useful but not worth returning. My Grandkids might enjoy.

I can't believe they are back! Last I checked, they were not in stock, so I assumed they were going to be discontinued... but oh happy day! They are back!They are the perfect length straw for when I am drinking protein smoothies every single morning and relaxing watching TV for about the only hour in the day I actually have time to do that. I don't know what it is, but the straw's length and the mostly relaxed position of my arm or something like that just works so nicely.Oh and the diameter of the straw is perfect for thick smoothies. Yet another reason to love them!I do actually put them in the dishwasher. I first rinse out the remains of the drink left in the straw and then into the dishwasher with them, sanitize cycle. Any one straw can last up to possibly 5 rounds in the dishwasher. You know when they have to be trashed when the splits at the end of the straw suck up more air then smoothie. Unfortunately, rarely, a straw may start that way. Turn it around and put the other end in the drink. There's no DOA's from my recollection.Oh, they are back, they are back, they are back! Yayyyy!

These straws are huge. I was looking for long, milk shake size straws, but these come in a larger diameter than I was expecting (one less star). Colors are ok, strong material.
