Thorough but wordy
Really good textbook but hefty. Tends to be rather too wordy which makes it difficult to use when it comes to revision. In the lead up to exams, it would be advantageous to use an introductory book like Adam Tomkins' 'Public Law' to bring together the main principles (Top Tip!).Mark Elliott rarely gives his own opinions (just like his lectures, actually!), but does provide detailed examples to illustrate their points to allow the reader to decide. I'm not so keen on the constant recitation of key themes and principles at the beginning of every chapter, and the regular use of numbering to artificially compartmentalise parts of the course (the first way, the second way etc...) Still a very good book though, and helped me to get a first in this paper.
