The shock hurts!
We've used similiar products that worked for our overly enthusiastic protector. They just didn't last. While I can't report on that aspect yet, my conscious needed to pipe in on the shock feature.1. There's no way to completely shut it off!2. Setting 16 caused disgruntled commentary from my hubby for a good 10 minutes. Setting 1 is barely felt so if like us, set it there to ensure no accidental injury. ( Hitting the button on the remote)Which brings me to the settings and directions. You're basically on your own to figure THAT out as the directions for that don't exist.Having to cut the excess and burn the frayed edge from doing so cheesy but necessary for our pooch. These are reasons that my rating for the value for price is lower. This was needed because we're moving from a house to an apt. Which is hard enough with a dog.Anything we can do to ensure his length is forever with us, is absolutely necessary. The beep and vibration are effective deterrents.

Works in ways other collars don't
My young dog has been randomly barking at the cat, toys, the couch. You know pup stuff. Unfortunately she is a Great Pyr and that cute puppy bark will be a loud thunderclap soon. I got this collar after 2 other failed attempts at the automatic barking collars not picking up on her spaced out, loud, barks. This was the solution. It is NOT automatic but instead has a remote that triggers when you press the button fairly reliably. You can pick from beep, vibrate or shock with the last two being customizable for your dog. Let it be known that the vibrate function is off-putting enough we have never had to use the shock but did test it. It was annoying to have on hand for exactly 2 days until she learned that barking was not okay but it actually has a fairly handy wrist strap. Now we just use it when we see a behavior that needs adjusting like chewing on the carpet. She knows the beep is a warning and will stop. This is great for establishing a line of communication between you and your dog as to where boundaries lie. Highly recommend.

Short range attention getter!
Ordered the collar for a very stubborn pup. She’s very smart and caught on quick. The remote is easy to use and instructions to assemble are easy to follow. The only downfall is the range, definitely not 330 yards, which is why I gave it only 4 stars. When we brought her into the front yard she bolted and I gave warning then zapped her....didn’t even faze her and I went up to at least 6-7. Even running after her and holding down the zapper didn’t faze her. So that sucked. But in short range she is good and with more training on lease around the yard she will connect stop with zap! We mainly use it when she is digging a hole to China while in the rain. It gets her attention then. Overall I am pleased, just wish range was better.

Terrible customer service!
The media could not be loaded. I've been looking for something like this that I eventually can add my puppy too when he gets older, plus the lightning deal was too good to pass up. I got it, set it up, and realized the controller wouldn't allow me to adjust the vibration setting, only shock. I messaged the seller through Amazon and was asked to email them. When I did that they requested a video, so I sent it. I didnt hear a single thing afterwards. I emailed them again through Amazon, and they requested I email them again. I messaged them that communications can stay logged on Amazon and havent heard a thing back. Thankfully my dog knows that these collars mean no barking because anything other than the beep is useless. Sending it back seems unreasonable since its banged up from the dogs playing- which was one of the big selling factors. They could play without it going off accidentally. The collar itself was easy to set up and I'm very pleased with. If the remote worked correctly I would be thrilled with my purchase.

Great product
Extrimly happy with this training collar. I have a big 85lb dog and she can be a lot especially when we have guest knocking at the door. It took less than 2 days to get her to know when I say no or stay she follows instructions. I've only used the shock mode twice in the settings #2 very low. I continue to use the beeping sound or vibration mode to remind her when she starts to get over excited and jump and bark at guest. she thinks she's a Chihuahua in a Rottweilers body as she's sweet but she's too big and will push you down if not expecting her to jump up on you.now with the either the peeping or vibration mode she will go straight to her bed or set next to us with out being extremely jumpy and barky.I hope this helps anyone make a decision on buying this item.

Effective.. which is what you want in a training device.
We have 4 dogs and all have vey different personalities.. Some work quite well with the sonic collars (they vibrate when they bark).. None of them work very well with the "spray" style (unless they are very young).. And some work fine with the stronger collars (we are not very fond of them and use them as a last resort). This seems to be a good balance between the various methods.. and can use the shock method as a last resort when nothing else will work. The range is quite good.. (realistically its about 700-800 ft inside or about 900-1000 ft outside). Definitely make sure that you get the correct "size" for your dog.. (our dogs are all sub-20lbs.. so the small are fine.. otherwise its too intense for the pup.)Overall, this is certainly a lot better than most of the training collars we've tried.. (and we've tried a LOT).

Very nice training collar
No complaints at all, it really works really well and gets my dogs attention and I've never had to use the shocking part because the vibration and noice works well enough that its unnecessary to use that part but If I could offer some advice to make it better it would be 3 things. 1st I would put some sort of cover over the shocking part so its not hit on accident, 2nd I would put a D-ring on the collar so you could use a leash without using 2 collars, and 3rd it would be nice to have a pouch inside the box to store everything when not using so you dont loose the smaller items and easier to carry. As far as the collar and performance its easy to put together, charges fast, great instructions, works very well and was delivered on time.
