Works great, still had to get rid of my machine because it still won't work. I kept the motor though.

If you are having an issue with your Elna Lock serger not operating at speed, the problem may very well be the motor and not your foot pedal. I was able to confirm this on our machine by testing the motor outside of the machine. I noticed a heavy carbon buildup on the case and the motor was sparking internally as well. I chose this motor as the rotation, case size, and electrical specifications were nearly identical to the original Japanese made YM-43 motor. To install, simply remove the bracket and ALL accompanying fasteners. This will ensure that the mounting studs are at the correct spacing when installing into your machine. Next, connect the wiring on the motor in the same fashion as prior. Reassemble the plastics on your machine and retest the machine using your original foot pedal.Unfortunately, the foot pedal that comes with this kit does not provide a smooth transition from low speed to higher speeds. Good motor and foot pedal at a good price, and works perfectly on my fixed up Singer 99. Like other reviewers, I initially had problems with the foot pedal going from 0 to 100 with very little ability go slowly. I found a very easy fix for this problem on YouTube. A video titled "Generic Sewing Machine Pedal Speed Adjustment" by the user "Tarot Oculus" shows how to pop off the bottom of the pedal and slightly adjust the position of the white box with the connection mechanism. You just loosen the two screws on the box, slide it toward the front of the pedal a little bit, then tighten the screws again. Now it's much easier to sew fast or slow with the pedal, just like my other machines.

Item looks and feels quality.Works as expected.

The controller is nothing but a stack of carbon discs inside a ceramic block. The intent is that increasing foot pressure decreases the electrical resistance of the stack. Rubbish. There is no variable control of motor speed. This foot “controller” may as well be a contact switch. You get two speeds: off, and full speed. None of this matters, as this vendor no longer exists. That’s a good thing, as they make and sell junk.

These were purchased for use on a Singer 99-13. The motor works well and mounts easily. The belt however was too short. The foot pedal appears to have only 2 speeds, off and on
