Onix Inferno Pickleball Paddle

I saw one of the ladies that I play with using this paddle, and I could tell just from watching her that it was a better paddle than mine. All her hits sounded solid, even when she didn't hit the 'sweet spot' cleanly. I ordered one that day, and haven't used my old one since. I love the rimless design, as I was always hitting my rim guard on my old one, causing erratic hits. With this one, I have much better control, it goes where I meant it to! (Usually ;-). Also, since it is a medium weight, I still get power when I want it; most paddles seem to trade power vs control, but this seems to have an adequate amount of both. The only caution I have is that without the rim guard, the rim is a bit fragile; you can hit balls on the edge without a problem, but you definitely don't want to scrape it on the ground (especially outdoors), or it will chip. I've also had it chip just tapping my partner's paddle, so you want to be careful about that as well. Not that the chipping affects the play of the paddle, it's mostly cosmetic. That being said, I wouldn't trade it for any other paddle I've played with (not that I've been playing that long), and everyone else that has one feels the same about theirs. It's not cheap, but if you like to play a lot, it's definitely worth the investment!Update: Sorry, I have to downgrade my previous rating from 5 stars to 3. After playing with it for only 6-8 months, the paddle broke inside (you could hear it rattle when you shook it, and it had a big dead spot near the top). I'm not sure when it happened, it could have been from a paddle collision, but a paddle that expensive needs to be more robust, and last more than half a year. Onix needs to address the fragility issue, both on the rim, and internally. The paddle I bought to replace it is the Gearbox G11, which has a much stronger rim, and should hopefully last longer.

This paddle was defective internally. However it took me passed the 30 day return to figure it out. So I contacted Escalade Sports in Indiana to see if they could do anything for me. THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS OUTSTANDING! All I had to do was fill out a simple form and take a couple of pictures of the paddle. By the end of the week I had a replacement paddle in my hands. I was figuring that I was completely out of luck.SO MY 3 STAR RATING IS OF THAT PARTICULAR DEFECTIVE PADDLE. Everything else was awesome and would receive a 5 star rating!

Great paddle! Love the edgeless design but; hate that the edge chips so easily. Solve it by using vinyl electrician tape to keep the chipping from happening.Onix Company needs to address this problem, especially at the price for this paddle.

This is no good. I bought two and they broke apart after a few mo the use. I would not ever recommend this.

Quality was less than expected. Grip was not wrapped properly and the face of the paddle is not solid

Paddle has a great feel, allowing for accurate control and touch. Shape of grip makes it very easy for a quick move from forehand to backhand. Tried many paddles and this truly stood out.

Paddle fractured on side within one week. Great customer service which suggested trying the Evoke instead. That paddle has an edge guard and seems more durable. I appreciate the customer service in seeking a solution.

Love the feel!! Handles really well.. Only thing grip came loose after a few weeks n had to have it regripped..
