I'm a horror fan & wanted something to watch during those cold boring nights when there's nothing on TV. Unfamiliar with all but one of the titles in this pack, I decided to give it a try.Disc 1:Devour(2005) Jenson Ackles & Shannyn SossamanAn evil online game wreaks havoc on a young man's life. I found this movie confusing or maybe I didn't pay close enough attention. It has some good moments but overall it's kind of a mess & the ending was stupid. My rating: 2/5 starsPopulation 436(2006) Jeremy Sisto & Fred DurstThe story is a rip off of Shirley Jackson's "The Lottery". The premise is that the pop. of Rockwell Falls must never rise above 436 so......This movie is very predictable & the acting is terrible but it's still watchable. If you have absolutely nothing better to do, give it a go. My rating: 2.5/5 starsCandy Stripers(2006) Brian Lloyd & Tori WhiteAliens take over a hospital & the bodies of the sexy candy stripers who work there. I have no idea if this was supposed to be horror, a comedy or porn. It tries hard to be all 3, but, all you get is a huge pile of unscary, unfunny, unsexy crap. There are no words to describe how awful this film is. During the end credits they show bits of the blooper reel. WHY? The whole film is one huge blooper. Nope! It's an abandoned laboratory!(Hey, it could happen) They break in & find The Sleeper, a comatose murderer who has the ability to enter their minds when they fall asleep.(Sounds familiar doesn't it?) This isn't the greatest movie either but I can't say I hated it. It made me jump a few times & I wasn't completely embarrassed after watching it unlike another movie in this pack. I'm looking at you "Candy Stripers"! My rating: 2.5/5 starsWind Chill(2007) Emily Blunt & Ashton HolmesThis was the only film I'd seen before & I enjoyed seeing it again. Two college students are run off an isolated road & stranded in a snowy ditch. As the Temperature drops, strange figures drift out of the woods & so begins a fun & creepy little ghost story. I liked this one a lot. Yes, like most horror films, it's far fetched & silly at times but the acting is very good & the director does a good job of making the viewer feel cold & creeped out like the characters. This the perfect movie to watch on a cold winter night. Cozy up under a blanket, sip hot chocolate & enjoy. My rating: 4/5 starsThe Cottage(2008) Andy Serkis & Reece ShearsmithThis was a very pleasant surprise. A British horror/comedy about a kidnapping gone wrong & an isolated farmhouse with a "Leatherface" type character lurking within.This movie is more gory than scary & it's pretty funny.(Well, it made me laugh) Steven O'Donnell steals the movie but, everyone gives a good performance here. It's nice to see Andy Serkis play something other than a computer animated monster/ape. A little something happens after the end credits. It was a bit unnecessary but it's there if you want to see it. My rating: 4/5 starsThis pack was a bit disappointing but "Wind Chill" & "The Cottage" will definitely be watched again. "Candy Stripers" WILL NOT!!!
