SanDisk Extreme 1 TB microSDXC Memory Card + SD Adapter with A2 App Performance + Rescue Pro Deluxe, Up to 160 MB/s, Class 10, UHS-I, U3, V30

A few weeks back I bought this 1TB microSD card during an Amazon flash-sale for about £330 to use in my Android smartphone, a 2018 HTC U12+. I liked the idea of having all my CD/Hi-res (FLAC) format music in my pocket on the move. I was also bored of having to convert down new music to MP3 format in order to accommodate my previous SanDisk 256GB microSD, which had put in a very respectable 5 year service by this point. The 1TB microSD was simple and efficient to use from the moment I inserted it into my phone. Android encryption enabled from the word go and it took about 15 hours to copy 800GB via the phone over a USB 3.0 connection. I simply left it going overnight and now have my lossless music collection in my pocket as intended, with bags of room to spare for future albums. Admittedly, £300+ is a lot of money and I ummed and ahhed about purchasing it for a good couple of weeks before taking the plunge. Value for money? Questionable. But the product itself is certainly of high quality and performed exactly to expectations so I can't fault those aspects. A Note on Counterfeit SanDisk microSDs: Thanks to an unscrupulous eBay seller I had been stung by purchasing a very convincing fake version of this card a few weeks before this Amazon genuine purchase. What did I learn? Stick to reputable sellers and if the price is too good to be true then it usually is. The counterfeit card became useless as once I began filling it with data, the "earlier" files I had copied vanished. There were other tell-tale signs including subtle differences in the packaging vs genuine (Made in Taiwan vs China) and there was no microchip "bump" on the back of the fake. A final thing to look out for is a genuine SanDisk microSDs should show up as "SanDisk SD card" in your device. If you've got a fake it will simply show up as "SD card", which is what I had. Thankfully I got my money back through the eBay/PayPal framework but it is wise to triple check images and listings when buying SanDisk microSDs.

This review is for th 1TB SanDisk Extreme. This has given new life to my Surface Book (I use a slimline adaptor that allows you to plug in a microSD card into the SD card slot, so that it is completely flush with the body of the PC and can stay in the slot permanently). I put all my videos and music and other large files on the card (but I ensure they're all backed up to the cloud as well) so they're always at my fingertips. Data performance is obviously slower than the hard disk of the machine, but that's to be expected, and for small files you don't notice it at all because the chip (or maybe just the driver) seems to have some smart caching. You only notice it if copying large files: it will copy part of the file very fast (presumably into the cache), and then it will suddenly slow down as it writes everything to the slower flash memory. This is a good compromise, and in practice works very well in daily usage.

I have this installed in a Surface Pro7. Tested with Flashbench, it shows the performance shown. Essentially, what the chart says is that, except on small files <64kb, it can be read and written at almost the same speed in the 80-90MB/sec range. This is as much as the port on the Surface is capable of. The Card handles it. With a better port it should be better still if it meets its specification.

My 1 TB arrived yesterday and took hours to format using a laptop as I was going to use it in my Switch. Currently downloading the purchased games from the eshop. Huge storage capacity for such a tiny card. It’s mind boggling that I have 953gb free to use. It helped that I bought the card in a deal and not at full price I do not own hundreds of games but many of them are quite large in size, between 15 and 28gb in size so the trusty 400GB filled up fast. I will keep it for the moment until I know that the new card is working ok. I have not yet played any games but all seems well. The card survived hours of formatting (slow laptop) and I will put it through its paces later. Once I have used the card for a while I will update this review. It is just great that I have every game in one place now.

Works good. Disappointed in the brand. Just seen the black friday sales. I bought this at normal price for £108. According to black friday sales this is 67% off and £97!!! Wtf Sandisk! hike the price by 300% to around £280 just before black friday to create a pretend sale! DO NOT FALL FOR THE MARKETING PEOPLE. Its a good card but the price is not as good as it seems

This is a superb memory card. 1TB is amazing. So very useful and convenient when transporting files. I use one in my Mavic 2 drone, and it is wonderful. The other one I use as a storage instead of my laptop's limited hard-drive. Again, such a great storage space: it just clicks in the side and I don't need to worry about it. I am very happy with these. The price seems to fluctuate a lot: I got these at about half-price. I have had them for over a year, and so far they have worked perfectly. [that's tempting fate; if anything goes wrong I shall modify this review!] I hope that you found this review helpful.

A lot faster then my Samsung micro (Samsung know for storage ssd ) could be cheaper it’s big as phone SIM card don’t remember price fully 100 or so. because it’s so small it’s going be very easy to lose

I bought this for a steam deck, and it works great. For most games, I can barely tell the difference between running it from the internal 512GB SSD or this microSD card. My only slight quibble is that the package was annoying to get in to.

This card has been working well with no problems. It is fast enough for the storage and retrieval needs I require of it.

Fast delivery in less than a week. I have used it for about 2 weeks. Very satisfied with both Amazon delivery and product quality. As a realtor, I need to take plenty of pictures and videography on real estate properties which consume large amount of my phone storage. Average of 30GB to 50GB per month. Too time consuming having to constantly transfer media files from phone to my computer. The media files timestamp information will also be modified as a process, unless media files transfer is via an apps, which gives rise to other technical issues and time consuming. This large 1TB storage helps to solve all these problems. This SanDisk 1TB storage Extreme model is providing me great value for my needs for a large phone storage, requiring high storage reliability, time saving at a very fair and reasonable cost.

Wow what a feeling to open your storage on your phone and read that you have 1TB of storage at your disposal on a single tiny card

This 1 TB MicroSD card is supported on Samsung S10 Plus as well. I already have the 1 TB variant. Now the total storage is 2TB which is double of my laptop HDD! I hope this product is genuine, but I trust Amazon. I hope this SD Card lasts for at least a decade. It is way too expensive! ₹30k for a memory chip is too much. 4TB External HDDs are available for ₹8k nowadays. This product must last till 2030 at least, and must be replaced by Amazon/Sandisk if it gets corrupted.
