Used it on 4 different machines. Machines were running at the time. Ran pen down entire length of plug wire....even over exposed end at spark plug.NO and I mean NO light from pen indicating spark along wire.USELESS as a diagnostic tool.

The light is too dim to see during the day, so you need to use it at dusk or after dark. It seems easy to use, but I found that it picks up interference from the other wires. If you just hold it near the wires by the coil pack, it lights right up. So when using it, separate out the wire you want to test as far away from the other wires as possible, then put it on the wire and use you other hand (or another material) to block the interference from the other wires/electronics. I did get the answers I was looking for, but I feel like there's better products (that cost more) and give better results.

Just started working on small engines. Ordered this and right away started using it works so good I'll reorder in the future.

This is a convenient, handy tool to test for spark in an engine without disconnecting anything. This tests for current from the outside of the spark plug wire. Just place the tip against the spark plug wire and it will tell you if there is spark and you can see how regular it is. To be fair most modern electronic current detectors can do the same thing, and some have added sound as well as indicator lights that are brighter than the one on this one, which can be hard to see in bright daylight.
