Thought provoking.
Love, love, love this! I agreed with most every single article. It really gave me something to think about. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is teaching young children.

I highly recommend this for any Educator
This book is an easy read mainly aimed at pre-k and elementary teachers but I think all can benefit from the stories in this book. It also makes you look at different stories in a new way/gives lots of tools to support Anti Bias Curriculum. Also the stories are very short. (One was only a page.) I never thought about The Three Little Pigs as a potential criticism of people who live in straw houses. Ultimately I learned that everything in a classroom carries a message (intentional or not).

Good ideas
This book was used for a graduate class and was full of good ideas and stories. I enjoyed it and took many "idea" notes.

Applied pratice to theory
Different from many other texts that just regurgitate theories this text used antecdotal stories that applied practice to theory.

It's a great book for a great price! I enjoy reading this even outside of class.

Irresponsible and outdated information that is harmful to students
Do not buy this book. It is outdated and contains harmful information about children’s development, especially regarding sexual and racial/ethnic identity. The latest citation in the entire book is from 2010. They reference the Cosby show as a cultural symbol. This is irresponsible for educators.
