Tuttle Pocket Indonesian Dictionary: Indonesian-English English-Indonesian (Tuttle Pocket Dictionaries)

I bought this dictionary when I learned I would be working for an NGO in Indonesia. My interpreter had a larger "complete" English-Indonesian dictionary but she never used it because this little dictionary was better. I bought a second one to give to my interpreter as a Christmas present.This is one of the few English-Indonesian dictionaries that lists words with their prefixes. Indonesian verbs do not have tenses, but they do have prefixes and suffixes which change their meaning. If you don't know the root word (not always easy to sort out) you can't look the word up in most dictionaries. Not so with this one. If you don't speak any Bahasa Indonesia, you need the simplest tools you can find. This one is it, and it's the perfect size to take everywhere you go.My only complaint is that the cover on the second one I purchased is much flimsier than the first one. Maybe it was just an error in that production batch.

This was much smaller than I thought it would be, but that was because I didn't read the dimensions carefully. It is the perfect size to carry around and is super easy to understand. There are pages in the front that explain the different abbreviations and symbols. Great value for the price!

The "Tuttle Pocket Indonesian Dictionary" is the perfect travel assistant. This 15,000 word dictionary is broad in coverage yet concise, small and therefore very easy to carry. The book is well bound and written on excellent paper stock to withstand rough treatment and challenging travel conditions. I highly recommend it to travellers as well as students.

Arrived as promised - full of what my sister-in-law needs to know to enjoy her trip to Indonesia! She commented the end of this book has a load of fantastic information she is greatful for having at her fingertips for her trip.

Whatever language you study, a good dictionary is helpful. You can't always find words in text glossaries. Words are easy to find and to read. Highly recommended.

Sent to my granddaughter in Indonesia. She likes the size, she likes the content, it is easy for her to use, and she uses it regularly.

This is a great size for traveling and very concise. Great purchase.

An excellent pocket dictionary, compact, well bound, genuinely pocket size, clear text. But if you need glasses like me you will need them to read it. I should have bought a larger print version. The kindle version is useless: you can’t search the headwords only. If only Tuttle made a smartphone dictionary app.

This is fantastic. Frightened to lose.To the point, succinct, clear, accurate, uses coloquialisms, perfect. I am not good enough to review this dictionary because it is all it should be and more. I found it practically useful on a day-to-day basis and Indonesians I met found it easier than me to refer when my limited vocabulary failed. Must buy. Great value for money. Faultless. What more do you want? You need this if you are going there and it is the best.

My Friend comes from Indonesian and he his learning English so i brought this book for him, its English- Indonesian-Indonesian-English, he told me that he now can learn and he is very happy with it, I also brought one for my self so I can Learn Indonesian, which is very hard but i am getting there,
