Powell's Book Store Lives Up to its Reputation
My initial purchase of the book GLORIOUS TECHNICOLOR from Powell's Books arrived in perfect condition within a couple of weeks of the order. I immediately ordered a second 'used' copy for a friend who is also a movie enthusiast, and another seemingly brand new book also arrived promptly. Considering the almost give-away price charged, I am most grateful to them for their impeccable service. As for the book itself, I couldn't be more pleased. I have been associated with the cinema industry for more than three quarters of a century, and have seen movies through the port holes of a projection room for much of that time. 'Technicolor' has been a magic word for me ever since I saw the first releases of SNOW WHITE and THE WIZARD OF OZ as a boy. No other colour process begins to match it, either for the naturalness of the images (seemingly brighter than normal only because of the darkness which surrounds the screen) or the technical perfection and transparency of the release prints. Thank goodness that its glowing images can still be experienced on our own home screens via the meticulously restored DVDs and Blue Ray discs now available.Having borrowed a much earlier edition of this book from the municipal library very many times, and then having sadly to lament its unannounced withdrawal from circulation for many years since, I was more than pleased to be able at last to possess it - to be enjoyed whenever I wish.

Glorious Technicolor - glorious book
It is a very good book in a representative form, which brings lot of information as well as many rare illustrations. I am interested in a history of cinema technology and Technicolor is the most legendary and most significant color film process ever existed. Thatโs why this is an essential source of lot of useful knowledge for any film enthusiasts.Really a great book!I consider to buy another issue of this book that could be a nice present for one of my best friends, who will celebrate a significant jubilee next year.

"Glorious Technicolor"
As an avid movie fan, and having grown up in the 1950's, I was fortunate to have seen films made in the original 3 strip Technicolor process; truly the "Golden Age" of lavish Technicolor produtions. This book is a tremendous guide to the developing process of adding color to motion and sound in the movies; any film fan will enjoy this book greatly.

This updated version of the definitive book on Technicolor is even better than the first. Updated, and with more beautiful photographs, it's a must have for students of film and people who want to know about the most beautiful color process ever invented.
