Pine Creek Outdoors Superlight 2 Oz Backpacking Shovel Trowel

I needed a shovel to dig cat holes and wanted it to be lightweight. This plastic one seems light and it's cheap so I bought it. I was dubious about it's ability to dig holes in hard Texas dirt. It held up though. I even used it to hack through some roots and it didn't break or bend or anything. I was worried it was going to do that. I figured for the price if it failed well no big deal. It held out though and I gotta admit I am impressed with a plastic shovel. I did take one star off because the stupid sticker won't come off. It's just ugly. Doesn't affect performance though just drives me crazy seeing it there.

used during my camping trip, after that, I gave it to my grandson as a toy. The Shovel Trowel is really light-weighted but sticking out from my backpack a bit because of the handle.

Took forever to get this and then I found it at the local sporting goods store for less! The plastic is REALLY sharp around the edges so putting it into a ziploc for sanitary storage while backpacking is risky business. It's lightweight but should really cost no more than $2.

But does fit perfectly in one of my larger pockets on the outside of my backpack so we'll see how it goes.

Good for the price! The plastic is cheaply made but will probably stand up to the light use I expect of it. The orange color is good so it will stand out and be easy to find!

It's a shovel, it's light and it dig holes. What else can I say. I would recommend the product for the price.

This Superlight backpacking shovel is perfect for those going to the back-country for days or weeks at a time. Very light weight, but sturdy enough to dig a cat-hole even in rocky soil. I'm very happy with my purchase, and will continue to use it on my overnight/extended outings.
