I just measured and the drawer sits exactly 1 3/4" above the cabinet floor. If your worried about loosing less then 2 inches of height then I'd say you need a larger cabinet. Installation was pretty easy. I didn't use the included drill template. Instead I installed the rails to the drawer. Then I set the whole assembly in the cabinet, aligned it side to side / front to back then marked where I needed to drill the pilot holes. Pulled it out and removed the rails. Mounted rails and installed shelf. Nice smooth even action. The shelf itself is well made and feels solid. My only complaint is the price. Could be $10-15 cheaper. But it works well and looks good so I'm giving it 5 stars. Measure across the opening and include any door hinges that stick out from the sides of the opening. I installed them on the "floor" of the cabinet, want them on shelf above too!** A: Yes we did. We have cabinets under the kitchen counter.We installed the roll out on both the upper and lower shelves in these cabinets.I am very happy to have them.
