My father started teaching me guitar when I was young, but he played mostly by ear. My ear isn't as good, and I needed more than chords and a couple picks patterns. This book is the perfect supplement to his teaching to get me progressing after a 20 year hiatus. Best of all, the songs are mostly songs I grew up listening to my father play.I tried Yousician and fenderplay, but didn't feel like I really learned or progressed. I wouldn't pay for either again.We lost my beloved father to a traumatic head injury at the too young age of 70. Picking up the guitar he gave me for Chanukah in the early 90s and this book helped me still feel close to him.Books and fingerstyle guitar, kids. Listen to the words; that's what he always said. Great intro to Brazilian guitar, great complement to Bossa Nova guitar by the same author. If you are looking to learn a unique style that stands out from the crowd, sounds so smooth and soothing and that is a blast to play I recommend this book. This book will also probably improve your rhythm playing across other styles.

Fantastic! Not only does it include several songs I wanted, but it shows you different ways to play them to mimic various artists. All of the Hal Leonard books are great. This one certainly didn't disappoint.

You are better off going on Youtube than trying to get through this book.

I like it. Notes and tabs, step by step, 17 great songs.... Exactly as they said.One thing I don't like is that the songs have no English translation. I suppose one could figure it out, Spanish isn't that hard, but it a little annoying. The audio track CD is very good ... clear, fast but not so fast that it hopeless to follow. I find I'm trying to match the sound on the CD. Unlike some audio track CD this seems to be so far pure guitar playing so -- it is possible to match the sound pretty close -- which is what I like.

The book was organized different than what ideas expecting; not bad but not what I had expected.
