I can't speak to the security of the lock. Most of these are pretty easy to break off if someone wants to. Just check out YouTube videos. I bought this lock set to discourage people from walking off with the receiver hitch mount when the boat isn't attached.The lock is certainly easy to install and remove. The locks are keyed the same and with this double set you have 4 keys so you have plenty of spares. My hitch is the 2" square mount and the locking bar has a safety pin that goes through the bar just in case the lock comes off for any reason, to keep the bar in place. There are 2 holes for the pin with O-rings to keep the pin from shifting during travel. The lock has a rubber cap to keep out dirt and water. The lock, once unlocked, doesn't require the key to lock, just push in the lock button.My boat trailer safety chains are fairly thick and when the lock is installed it's difficult to put the chains through the hole on the lock side of the receiver. It took a couple of times to get used to it and now it's not bad at all. That's not true for the chains and hooks for my Airstream travel trailer. The chains on that are really stout and the hooks are large. It is next to impossible to get them through the hole in the hitch because the lock head is in the way. You have to put the chain in before installing the lock.Overall I'm pleased, but I've seen the videos where it takes only moments to break the lock. It is handy to use and it fits nicely inside the receiver.

My previous locking hitch pin fell apart, then fell off, on the freeway while driving 20 miles to pick up my trailer. Miraculously the hitch did not fall off! With the combination pin and lock on this unit, the extra protection is priceless. This feels very well made and I'm sure it will ensure me years of safe towing.

Works well no issues

Got this for a 2023 Tacoma. Seems well made and is longer than my old Master Lock stainless that I've had for at least 30 years. If it were stainless. I would probably give it 5 stars.

For the money, this is a fine upgrade to the pop metal pin that came with my OEM Lexus tow receiver. I added a touch of anti-seize to the lock to guard against rust, even though the rubber cover seems to be a good fit over the locking mechanism...seemed like easy insurance against some of the other reviewers that had to cut off their lock due to rust. My one issue was that not nearly enough o-rings are supplied. The solution was simple enough...run to the hardware store and buy some more. The o-ring is a standard plumbing o-ring that any decent hardware store should have in stock.

I used to use a cheap locking pin possibly from harbor freight, but I upgraded to a 1 ton truck which has a 2 1/2 inch receiver and a reducing adapter. This is just about perfect - long enough to do the job without being so long that it gets in the way.I would have preferred a standard tumbler key instead of the round/barrel style key myself, but it works fine. How secure is it - I really can't say since I haven't tried to steal my own hitch, but I have to believe it is an adequate deterrent to keep would be thieves from taking your hitch which is the point!

I needed a locking pin for my 2.5 inch receiver. I went to HF and bought one but the lock wouldn’t quite fit. I reviewed a lot of pins on Amazon and this one had good reviews. I bought the 2 pack making the assumption I might need two in the future. I am very impressed with them. First they fit my receiver though the spring clip is a little tight but I’d rather have it that way. Putting an O ring on the pin once it’s in then putting the clip on holds it nicely in place to then add the lock. Otherwise the pin would slide when trying to add the lock. The cover on the lock to keep dirt and water out provides full coverage. They even provide additional O rings. I think there were 3 on each pin then added a few more in a separate bag. It was all packed nicely in a cardboard container contains foam with cutouts for all the parts (pins, keys, clips, extra O rings). This was a really nice package and the pins look great. I am confident they will perform well.
