Great size, proper bar spacing, but cages have major flaws, way over priced!
I have a male syrian hamster and I've had him for almost 3 months. Since I got him I've had a heck of a time trying to find a cage big enough with proper bar spacing. I had been eyeing this cage online for a while on a couple websites. Then I realized the one website with the best price had them for sale here on amazon for $121.21. I had an amazon gift card so I figured I would purchase this since I wouldn't have to pay the full price out of my pocket. I had read so much info online about these Marchioro cages being such great quality, and read so many comments on forums about this cage. I was confident I was getting an excellent quality cage. So my cage came and I was so excited. I took everything out of the box and right away I noticed that the door on the cage was very crooked and it wouldn't close right. It was a concern since I was worried about cage security and my hamster not being able to get out. Then I noticed that the base of the cage had a chunk of plastic missing from one corner and that all 4 sides of the base were bent inward very badly, so the actual wire part would not fit flush onto the base! Also the rim of the base was dirty and had some brownish/red stuff on it, almost looked like a rust color. The accessories that come with the cage, other then the shelves are all cheap and useless. First off the tubes are horrible, and once you get them together, they will NOT fit through the holes in the shelves, which defeats the purpose of even having them. The food bowls are a joke, they are too small for even a mouse. The house is not only flimsy and cheap but the holes are so small, a syrian wouldn't fit through them. The latches that come with it to secure the cage onto the base could be better, to make the cage secure to the base and tight enough, the bars you put them on get bent. I wasn't happy with the cage I got being defective so I got a replacement sent out and that cage was picked up by fedex and returned to the seller. So I get cage #2 and was very excited. I take it out of the box and the base was perfect. I take the actual wire cage out and at first thought it was great, until I put it on the base, that is when I noticed that the back of the cage was all bent and bowed outward very bad. It was so noticeable. Then I realized that the door was crooked like the first one but not quite as bad. I was extremely disappointed in the quality of these 2 cages. I didn't want to deal with this a 3rd time so I asked the seller if I could keep the 2nd cage for a discount and they refunded me 20%. I was able to bent the bars at the back. This cage also will not sit flush on the base, there too much space either between the base rim and the front of the cage or back of the cage. I'm only using 1 shelf since the tubes will not fit through the holes on the shelves. So I'm using the big rectangular shelf, I have it very low on the bars and I have my hamsters houses underneath so he can climb onto it from climbing on his houses. It's a real shame that there is so much hype about these cages being such great quality. I got two that both had major flaws in quality. If it weren't for the size and bar spacing I would've returned the 1st one for a full refund! It is WAY over priced. I think they should just sell the base, wire top and 1 shelf for about $80. The other stuff is cheap and useless!

My Mice Love It
Price is too much. We need someone in the U.S. to make a cage this well and sell it here. Spacing is perfect for my tiny white mice. I have 5 boys in it. I only wish it had a partition piece you could buy, as the boys are so aggressive. Right now one is out of the cage & temporarily in a glass aquarium to heal from his bite wounds. This cage is spacious. The tubes seem cheap & I accidentally broke the wheel trying to figure out how to attach it-was very disappointed. They already have a Silent Spinner & a Wodent Wheel, but I thought maybe if I added the other wheel it would help. Anyway, I just ordered another Wodent Wheel. The shelves are quite heavy considering. They were hard to install-directions sucked that came with the cage. Shelves too troublesome to try to keep clean. I removed & tossed out. My mice love, love the little plastic house that came with it. It has a cute, easily removable roof-no trouble to clean. I put a little blankie from my old cotton clothes on the floor of the house and use receiving blankets & towels on floor of cage instaed of buying expensive junk filler they sell. I change them every so often to keep clean. Should sell this just with the house for much cheaper price. There is plenty of room & bar spacing is small and safe.

Product $$ by OK- Supplier Horrible
The cage came damaged and the plastic tubes were filthy> to the point I was unsure if they were used…maybe the the box was kept in a area that was unsanitary. The cage is decent the wires are 1/4" perfect fro mice or dwarf hamster. I WILL NOT order anything from this supplier again.

Price to high for the quality of the product. Not suitable for rats or any small animal that likes to chew.
I have an unusual combination of a female rat that lives with two female mice. All the cages meant for mice that came with the proper 1/4" narrow wire spacing was physically too small for a rat and all the bigger cages that would have enough space for rat had wire spacing that was to wide for mice. This cage was of decent quality but had some issues, such as no latch for the access door, cheep plastic tabs that are easily chewed off that hold the wire part to the plastic bottom and the fact the bottom IS plastic and easily chewed through. The accessories it came with were very cheap and flimsy as well. The exercise wheel had so much resistance on the center hub to even spin freely making it completely useless for the mice that tried to use it and the second time I had to remove it from the cage it broke anyway. The main problem I had was the plastic bottom on this cage. Rats like to chew and they also love escaping. Within the first two weeks our rat had chewed two of the three plastic tabs that hold the wire top part to the bottom plastic base which required me to find a new way to secure it to the base. Within a week or so after that our rat figure out how easy it would be to chew right through the this plastic cage bottom and escape whenever she wants. One of the times she chewed a new hole through the plastic base and one of the mice decided to go with her. The mouse was missing for nearly three weeks before I found her dead in our closet. I finally had to throw the cage away because after less than 6 months of use because there was nothing left of the base that was able to be patched and the rat still was getting out of one of the many holes she chewed. It wouldn't be so bad if this cage was cheap to buy, but when I purchased the cage it was $172.72 plus tax ans shipping, not cheap at all for what you are getting. If your small animal doesn't chew on plastic and you don't mind spending a lot of money for lack luster quality this wouldn't be a bad cage, but for rats, I would highly recommend finding a better cage.
