It lists them being made of polypropylene, which is listed on Livestrong.com as safe and does not leach into food or liquids, and made in the USA. **Q: If I poured a hot solution into these tubes, would they leak?** A: No :-) I warm all of my lip balm ingredients in a pyrex dish that I set inside my crockpot on high. If you are making lip balm for sale, don't forget you need to have your ingredient list on the tube as well, which are typically a little smaller 3/4" x 1 1/2".
