Cute book but...
I feel like this book could have been greatly improved if there was dialogue between Alice and Angelina after Alice wasn't being a good friend. I think this book teaches that friendships have bumps in the road, but I didn't like that Angelina didn't speak up when Alice hurt her feelings and that Alice acted like nothing happend.

I cried
I used to read this as a kid. It was my favorite book so I got it for my niece and nephews and they love it! In excellent condition

Good friends are important
This is a nice story about friendship - wish they would reprint these books.

Not just for girls
This book was on my son's reading list for school so I though alright. But I was amazed to find that he enjoyed the story. My son is autistic and can not speak or understand very well but when I finished this story he looked at me with a question and said "Mouse friends?". Now he asks for this story often at bed time. This is a good book for beginner readers and younger and I enjoyed it as well.

Not our favorite, but good
My daughter loves Angelina. This one is fine and a good lesson about friendship, but not as wonderful as the first book.

Still wonderful - 25 years later
My mom and dad read these books to me when I was little. I believe we had Angelina Ballerina, Angelina and Alice, Angelina's Christmas, and Angelina and the Princess. I'm 28 now and these books are just as great as I remember them. Every time I spot them on my parents' bookshelf, I have to pull one out and flip through the pages. The stories are charming but hardly arbitrary. Another reviewer mentioned the lessons in the books aren't "preachy", which is true. But the best part is the illustrations. They are so detailed, whimsical and beautiful. I remember wishing I could visit Angelina's world and when I revisit the pictures now, they're still just as beautiful. These are essential to any children's book library.

Charming Angelina story about friendship
In "Angelina and Alice", Angelina meets a new friend Alice and they bond, but when Alice joins another group of friends and teases her, Angelina feels left out. Things work out in the end, and the pair form a close friendship. The Angelina series of books are adorable, and the beautiful and detailed illustrations possess an old-world charm that endears the books to children. The books are great for reading aloud to preschoolers and up, and will appeal most to little girls who love ballet, and young children who love stories about cute little mice!

I would be much happier with this story if Angelina's friend Alice had apologized
I would be much happier with this story if Angelina's friend Alice had apologized, or at least acknowledged she had been mean and made a mistake, as part of the reconciliation.

Not as described
Not impressed that the description was "like new" when it's got "Acacia Nursery School" printed inside the front and back covers. Was bought as a gift because I wanted the book but couldn't get it new, but it's not that useful as it is.
