white bulbs
The bulb it self is fine. The reason for the low rating is the light output is nowhere near as good as the stock "yellow" bulbs. I installed only one bulb and left one OEM bulb and covered each light to see which one you could see farther with. And better with. The halo is 5000K and the OEM is around 3200K. When you. Are in front of the vehicle looking into the lights the halo is deffinatly whiter and brighter but when you are inside the vehicle and looking out the OEM light puts out a lot more light and you can see farther and a lot better. I did a research of light color and output after doing my little test and found that if you go higher than 4200K you actually start loosing light output. Do a research before you buy white or blue bulbs. I knew with blue you can't see as well as white or yellow but I didn't know that you can go too white. If you want people to be blinded looking into you're headlights buy them, if you want to see better don't buy them. Sylvania silverstars ultra is as white as you want to go.

not what I expected
bulbs are not as bright as standard Sylvania though they are whiter one bulb lasted less than 1 hr. I did clean them with alchohol pads and used gloves when installing, unfortunately I didnt install them when I got them so couldnt use the Amazon return policy. I am leaving the other insstalled to see how long it lasts. so be aware

Not as white or bright, as advertised...I'm kind of disappointed!
Not as white or bright, as advertised...I'm kind of disappointed! I was looking to improve the light output on my 2003 Toyota Sequoia, so I bought these because Halo Automotive touts them as premium bulbs. They are advertised as "a pure white color, making it the closest look to HID (High intensity Discharge) from any halogen bulb"...but they are not, and are actually more of a goldish white. They use a coating on the glass to give it a little bit of a color shifting appearance, so when viewed from different angles that it looks kind of "HID". As far as the light output...the Sylvania Silverstar Ultra bulbs that I took out are much whiter and brighter, while projecting a farther and wider beam (and this is after 3 years of use). I'm probably going to put the Sylvania bulbs back in, until they actually burn out, and keep these for backups. For the same price, go with the Sylvania's!

HID Matching? Yea right...
I have an 04 Mazda3 with HID Xenon stock low-beam lights... I bought these as fogs (and 9005's as high-beams) to help match the HID's I have which are a 4300k temperature.Based on the reviews and what I saw I figured they'd at least be noticeably whiter... but they're not. They're the same brightness as my stock bulbs which are 6 years old now (never had any burn out). And they're slightly whiter but you can really only tell by looking at the pictures. I installed them on one side of the car and took pictures at night. But it's pretty disappointing especially for the price, I bought some PIAA Extreme White 7440 bulbs for my reverse/backup lights and now those are brighter and much whiter than stock. It's a huge difference and they were half the price as these (although different type of bulb). So I wouldn't recommend these if you're trying to match your HID's because they don't come close. I gave it two stars because it is whiter than standard halogens but just barely.

Horrible
For $33, I thought I was getting a quality bulb. Instead, I got something labeled as "7000k" but in reality, is closer in color to 4300k. The Light output on these bulbs is awful. I deliver pizzas so I get a lot of night driving in. Compared to my stock lights, way dimmer. They look nice but are impractical. I would have much rather gotten something name brand like Sylvania Ultrastar. I found myself at times not even being able to see and having to turn my stock brights on just to see the road...

Good lights
Light color is close to white - close (but not quite there) to minivan HID lights. Output is good for night visibility. Helps with dark objects on the road. Only issue, common to these type bulbs, is that they have a very reduced life. Part of the compromise.
