I was supposed to get this in Aug, and I just got it. That's about 15 days early.I grilled some flank steak and sausages (steak first and then sausages) and some zucchini, and it was great.I did use ready-light charcoal briquettes, but I just made sure to burn off all the light fluid and turn them over during the 10 minutes they toolk to ash over. The fan did seem to make it go faster.I put in a large amount just to make sure ( about 8 small-to-medium sized briquettes).So simple to put together (really no assembly required), and the grill looks heavy duty. All together, the unit is very light.I bought this new for $113.I am going to use this all summer!John

This is a fabulous grill! Given as a birthday gift for a man who owns 5 other grills and this is his favorite thus far! This grill cooks evenly without all the muss and fuss of a large grill. It uses 4 charcoal pieces and does not fill area with nasty smoke. It's easy to use, well made, temperature controlled and worth every penny!!!

Great for two people. Tried it inside but it does smoke some and gave me a headache. Even with the stove fan turned on it was a bit too much. Great flavor, heated up fast and cooked the steaks evenly. I'm sure we'll get a lot of use out of this.

Tis little beauty does everything as advertised. Perfect for the "two of us"....highly mobile and easy to use.

Not good for a crowd, but perfect for two. Also great to take camping, etc. Just what I expected!

We are a family of two and love charcoal cooking, but found it too much trouble to use a regular grill for a couple of chops. This one does the job. We have also cooked steaks, hamburgers and chicken on it. All are cooked evenly and the meat stays juicy. It has a battery operated fan that fires up the coals in just a few minutes and it does actually take only 7-8 pieces of charcoal. We took the advice of another poster and put several of the instant coals on the bottom and finished it out with regular ones. (Don't like the taste when using all pre-soaked charcoal.) It does sear and score the meat. It is best suited for two pieces of meat as the hottest heat is concentrated around the center. We tried cooking four hamburgers, but had to keep moving the ones on the outside to the center to get them done. We have not tried vegetables on it, but I expect they would cook nicely at the outside rim. It has a 'poker' to lift the hot grill and it is a life-saver. It is fairly easy to clean. I put the removable parts in soapy water while they are still hot and then use a brush. I think it is overpriced and for the price should include the lid, but it works as advertised.

These are the absolute best portable grills. They cook evenly and are super easy to take with you whether it is to a tailgate party or picnic. The Homping Grill easily and quickly ignites in two different ways: you can use 8 to 10 instant light charcoal briquettes; or you can use a fire starting gel. Ignite the charcoal, turn on the fire control switch to increase airflow to the flames and you'll be cooking within two to three minutes and there is no black smoke. We have loved our grill and loved that we can now easily have a fire camping or anywhere outside.
