Review: I'm giving 5 stars because this is a good product and I recommend it - Ok, I'll start with this: I'm giving 5 stars because this is a good product and I recommend it, not because it's the greatest thing ever. The 5 star rating is more because I know people base their buying decisions on the overall rating and frankly, this is a pretty good product at this price point. Honestly at about $100 I almost want to dislike it or at least find something wrong with it, but so far it's been solid. Some reviewers stated theirs did not come with lens covers, but mine did. Were they amazing lens covers? Absolutely not. But were they appropriate given the nature of this product? They sure were. I have used an M68 close combat optic and a 3 power ACOG with my issued M4A1, and the Monstrum is definitely not a peer of either of those products. However, it is a great little optic to have fun with at the range. You have to read the instruction manual to figure out how to make adjustments (*gasp* who has time to read stuff?!) as some other reviewers pointed out, the adjustment dials are not labeled clearly. But seriously, it's a $100 ish optic. The glass is clear enough, the reticle illumination is bright enough, and I've put probably a couple hundred rounds down range using it and it hasn't lost its zero, even though I only hand tightened it when I first installed it and I haven't messed with it since. It seems sturdy enough, but I hadn't really played rough with it. Would I take it to war with me? ... Actually, maybe. But only if my m68 and ACOG were not available. The white lettering on the side proclaiming the company name is dorky looking but whatever. If your budget is a little light and you're just looking to have some fun on the range, this is not a bad choice at all. ***Update: 3 years later***** I have NOT re-zeroed this since the first time, so that should tell you something. I have much more experience with some much better optics (Aimpoint, Vortex, Trijicon) since I first wrote the above review, and that makes the shortcomings of this optic much more clear to me, however I'm going to stand by my original review. This is a $100 ish optic, you get what you pay for, it is fun but not in any way the equal of more expensive options. As other reviewers have pointed out, it did come loose after a while, both the rings/mount and the optic mounted in the rings. I tightened both and didn't need to re-zero, didn't bother with any Loctite or anything like that, it still rattles a little from time to time but seems to work fine. I have it mounted on a Smith & Wesson M&P 15 and have fired probably between 500 and 1,000 rounds since mounting it. Buy it for fun at the range, don't bet your life on it unless you have no other choice.
Review: Lot of scope for a Little money - I was a little sceptical knowing it was a China import but first impressions we're all good and I honestly don't see any real issues with this scope. It comes in a really nice quality well padded box that gives the impression that something of quality is being protected inside. Opening it up you find the scope is sealed and protected in a heavy plastic pouch and comes with a battery installed, an extra battery, lens cloth and a well written (in clear english) manual. First off... I haven't shot with it yet but I'm giving my opinions of it so far. I can't comment on the claims that the turrets are labeled backwards (needing to adjust opposite how it's marked for windage and elevation) ...but I don't really care if they are, no biggie. I can say the glass seems really clear for an $82 scope. Build quality seems solid, feels maybe a tad heavy but that translates to durable and tuff.. it's fine. Finish isn't quite what I see on my more expensive scopes but it looks good, nothing obvious, the aluminum casting maybe not be as perfect as more expensive scopes. Reticle was blurred at first but after adjusting the eye focus ring it's perfect and sharp as can be. The illuminated reticle works as it should, helps when dark or shaded but not really needed in most normal day time lighting conditions. Again I haven't shot it yet but can't see there being any issues. Best I can tell it's a great value for the price payed. As far as mounting.. I bought this for my flat top AR .22cal. Standard sight height on the AR platform seems to be about 2-3/4 center to center above bore. For me the stock scope set right at 2-1/2 which is probably ok for some. I liked it on a 1/2 quick release riser making it a 3" center height with the eyepiece right at flush with the back edge of charging handle. This left no room for BUIS (backup sights) but works best for me. Sorry so long. I say it's good to go and think I'll get one for my 9mm carbine too if things go as well as I expect. Good luck!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Definitely worth the price.
*by A***. on March 27, 2021*

Great scope for the price. The only reason its 4 stars instead of 5 is the very short eye relief. Most people would be good with it but i have a very long length of pull. On an ar platform I have to lean forward slightly to get full view, even with it mounted as far back as possible. The clarity and brightness are much better than I expected from a $100 scope. It stays on target great. I'm running 150g supersonic (1900fps) cor bon 300aac, so recoil is slightly more than a typical 5.56. At 100yds I put 10 3rd groups in the red, the center dot actually completly covered each individual group.
