The lid just does not fit on very well. It takes several tries to get it screwed on. Just when you think you've got it and take a drink, tea goes all over you. I finally threw mine out and went with another kind. Don't buy. It's pretty and if you can live without the lid then by all means, get it. But unless you go buy some oxyclean don't bother.

It is difficult to line up the lid properly to prevent leakage. Once the lid is on correctly it does insulate the liquid well, hot or cold.
